I don't ever venture on the Red Café (why would I) but having read that thread I must say there are some very sensible objective posters on there ... fair play

Seems a pretty reasonable thread really. Was expecting much worse...didn't see much infighting - just discussion really.

That's my point. My friend couldn't believe any of his clan were actually thinking with a degree of sense. All he thought he was going to see was total abuse against us, which infuriated him even more. (which made me happy haha).

Well it's nice to see they take us seriously. I can completely see the arguments for both sides. I'd say that maybe United still do have a tiny bit more appeal, which is only natural given their higher profile, and them being the second best team in Europe at the moment (if you're going off the CL) and the current Premiership Champions....
But it's futile to argue that City aren't anything other than a very exciting very enticing prospect.

Firstly, you will be well paid. That's going to be a big help.
At both clubs you get to compete for top honours and play in the best competitions. On one hand, there's a club who have already won it all and so you are in with a better chance of those top honours again. On the other hand, you can be part of something new; which is also exciting.
Players might also feel they stand a better chance of playing more regularly at City. In certain areas (defence, in particular) the player might feel City aren't as strong and so could command a place in the team more often.
Plus a host of other personal preferances, including friends at the club, the way things are run, etc. Of course we prefer the way United works, but we're hardly objective about these things.
Plus, some players might thrive on pressure and want to work for Ferguson. Some might be intimidated by it.
I wouldn't choose City, but lets not be ignorant to the fact that its a bad choice and must only be about money. It has to play a part, but they're also on the verge of potential success and exciting times. If I didn't hate City and love United, I'd fancy that. Everyone loves an underdog. Just not us, in this instance.
This was well thought out.

Yeah especially the bit about the defence. Us conceding 4 less and our keeper winning the golden glove an all.
There all a bunch of clueless cunts the ones that seem to be talking sense are just getting lucky.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
