It's CRIMINAL - don't they know who he is??? Oh yes they do, that's the problem.

I thought it was standard in USA that if you have made time in the past, the visa would not be granted by default?
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Be hilarious if Newcastle had qualified for Europe and he was denied travel cause he was classed as a hooligan.

Joey banned from the land of the free

Postby BobbyJ1956 » Wed Jul 13, 2011 2:08 pm

Daily Telegraph says that Joey Barton has been denied a visa for the U.S. and will miss his team's pre-season tour.
"Visa story is correct," said Barton on his Twitter page. "They told me am not allowed in until I have 5yrs without any trouble. 3yrs down, 2yrs to go.... Totally hypocrisy considering what they get up to but rules are rules... " I cant be bothered dwelling on negative's (sic), this is my last post about the visa situation."
Tough luck Joey, won't be seeing you over here then. Same report said how he had mostly kept out of trouble last year except for smacking Morten Gamst Pedersen at Blackburn (probably well deserved, by the way.)

Not the best joke in the world but the right one at the right time. Cheers.

Yohan Cabaye MF Lille £4.3M
Mehdi Abeid FW Lens Undisclosed Fee
Demba Ba FW West Ham Undisclosed Fee
Sylvain Marveaux MF Rennes Free

Other than Demba Ba, who I quite like, has anyone heard of any one of these players? If any of them are anywhere near as good as Cheick Tioté or Hatem Ben Arfa they'll be on the right track. There must be a decent French scout at Newcastle or something as they're doing an awful lot of shopping there these days.

Tioté was bought from Twente and has never played in France. But I do see your point.

To be honest I'd never heard of him before he rocked up at Newcastle, which makes how good he turned out to be even more impressive. I just assumed that he'd have been brought through by a French side with a name like that.

He went straight from Côte d'Ivoire to Belgium (the Belgians scout a lot of African kids), and from there to Holland.
He was really good in McClaren's Championship-winning side, but I was still surprised that he did so well in the Prem.

Even after you take the-best-goal-that-has-ever-been-scored-by-anyone-and-the-best-that-will-ever-be scored (TM) into account, he scored the goal of the season last year. Was it one v Arsenal?
