The What the Media Says on the OS played it down yesterday when they were commenting on the press titbits of the day so, as DH has said, I would hope that there is no truth in it whatsoever and it's just Sky stirring yet again

Pay the man what he wants for fucks sake. There are quite a few people in our Club who aren't earning their wages and we turn all Uncle Scrooge on one that gives his absolute everything on the pitch.

I'd be fucking angry if we let him go. Contract dispute or not.

His current contract has 2 years to run, so imagine the club won't be over keen to discuss a new one yet. "It's Normal".
That said he joined us a few weeks after this:

I sincerely hope this is all a pile of bollox, both the rumours of a transfer and the rumours of a contract dispute.

Given the obscene sums of money we have paid the likes of Adebayor, Santa Cruz and Bridge, I'll be disgusted and surprised if we are penny pinching over Zabba. He should be given a deal which reflects his value to the club and his value is significant. We need to look after him.

The contract dispute came from a recent article by a Times journo saying Zabaleta only had a year to run on his deal and he was unhappy with City's offer to extend and that several clubs were looking to sign him. The journo in question then issued a corrected article saying Zab signed a 4 and half year extension in 2009 and there was no contract dispute. The bit about several clubs targeting Zab was correct but the article also said City would knock the offers back and that Zab's was valued for his versatility, attitude and tactical intelligence - in short right up Mancini's street.

Interesting. I'm sure someone posted a grid the other week showing each player and his contract situation. Had a quick search but can't find it.

According to Italian media, Roma is ready to offer 6m euro for Zabba. I'd be sad to see him leave City, he's been a top professional for us, never a word out of place, he always gave 100% or more on the pitch.

there is no problem with Roma offering 6M, which seems to be what happened. However I believe City will reject it, becuase he is the best 'squad player' of all.

Our squad is actually getting a bit thin at the moment, we need numbers and quality! Some of last season's 25 will be gone, like Vieira, Boateng, Given and probably SWP for example.

The Warrior will stay.

6m euros would be an absolute insult, not that we would sell him anyway.

6 Mill ?!?! Are they taking the piss?!

Whats makes these retarded club execs think they can have some of our most valuable players for less than we paid despite the fact that they are now much much better players than when we bought them?!

I for one am glad we are making a stand over Tezez and hope we hold out for every penny of 50 million to send a message out!
The Boateng thing wound me up aswell, Bayern thinking they had the god given right to get a player for peanuts when we paid well over the odds (However, i wasnt bothered to see him go as he hardly lived up to his reputation or performances in the WC).

The scum sell reseve team players for 3,4 and 5 million. About time we started sticking up for ourselves. If clubs wont pay a fair price which reflects a players ability, reputation or potential then he stays until somebody does.

Oh and it would be criminal is Zabba went but i dont think he will, top player and pro!

Zab was probably my player of the season. Perhaps not as worthy as Vince or Nigel for any individual performance but in terms of overall use. He played left and right back and was probably the best at both, maybe pushed by Micah at the end of the season. He also played on both wings and got stuck in in the centre. He would be brilliant one game and dropped the next, yet he never complained. I suspect he had more stitches than the rest of the team put together, yet only complained when he had to go off for the stitches.

In an era of a squad of only 25 players, someone like zap is invaluable. If you look at Mancini's signings, they can all play more than one position, so I couldn't see him selling the king of versatility

Exactly. Not only does he give his absolute everything but can perform in good level in half of the positions on the pitch. We simply can't let player like that go. Also, a cult hero and fans favourite and someone who has made genuine effort to get settled in Manchester and in the team.

I repeat, I would be fucking disgusted if they didn't give him contract he deserves and tie for long term. Considering some of the absolute clowns and moaners we have in massive contracts, why are we acting like cheapskates with someone who actually earns his pay check.
