Pretty much the same deal as the other trips to wembley without the cup scheme bullshit. I think aslong as the club/osc's dont take the piss it should go way further down then 3500.

Credit to the club for creating an online opportunity to buy these tickets. No more 6am queuing.

Do you think there is a chance this will get down to citycard or accesscard holders(or whatever they are called now).

To be honest, I actually think this system is a little unfair. I live about 120 miles from Manchester and a seasoncard is just impossible. I dont see why the likes of myself should lose out just because we dont live in manchester. Should be first come first serve. Is a fan that walks 10mins down the road to a game any better than one that has to do a 300 mile round trip and pay shed loads for a tran. They should maybe limet down the number of season ticket holders. Plus, some old guy that has been goin to games for 50 years gets priority over someone in their late teens, early 20's etc because they havent had the chance to build up the points and will also lose out in following their team in such games. I just think its a bit wrong.

I get your point Daz, especially about the traveling bit. With regards to points thou, its the only way to do it. I disagree about the double loyalty points being given to people that pay an extra £50 mind, sort of stunt United would do imo and I regretably think this sort of bollox is really going to change the dynamic of our support over the next 4-5 years ... to think we all laughed when true Man U fans whinged about this sort of thing happening to them .... worrying in my book, sadly

Would it not make sense to organise these things as such:

If you have a card or whatever you register your details, your preferred mode of contact with the club and your bank account/credit card details.

If the club receives an allocation of say 24000 tickets, the top 24,000 points rankings receive a message of their preferred method asking if they want a ticket for the match. If they get a text message, reply yes. If they get an email, reply yes. If they get a letter in the post, send back the envelope with a yes. The account gets debited the cost and the ticket issued. They have 10 days to respond. If they don't respond in time, the next people in the points queue get a message. 10 days to respond. This continues until the tickets are exhausted.
Attack the argument of the person, not the person of the argument- except Carl.

Good idea in theory dazby, but unfortunately not if any of those 24000 people want to sit next to specific people. Ticket office brains struggle at the best of times, let alone if they had to organise that side of it.

So people who are on the dole get first priority on tickets, because they can spend all day ringing/queuing etc, but the worker who went to some 2nd division shit hole away misses out?

Besides, the points only count from when we moved to the new stadium and, with the new rules, spend an extra £50 a year and you'll soon overtake people who were shelling out for years to watch utter shite.

There is no totally fair system, but one which gives those who attend the most matches, including away ones (which I don't anymore) the priority for tickets has to be the best. I'll probably not get a ticket for this year's champions league final, but since I'm not going to go to the away legs of the group games, I can't really complain.

As the for community shield, I suspect you'll have a chance of a ticket. It's essentially a friendly, albeit at Wembley, which just makes it more expensive for most fans. Plus it's in the middle of the school holidays and before the start of the normal season, so I suspect a lot of fans will be away. I know of at least 4 season ticket holders, myself included, who aren't going, so get ready for first come first served once all the season ticket holders are done.

I'm inches away from booking flights for this. I desperately want to do this.

Any decent, cheapish hotels in London by the way?
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
