Great blog post on the Etihad sponsor deal, FFP etc

Sorry if it has been posted elsewhere but couldn't see it.

Great article (lengthy though) regarding our deal with Etihad. Draws comparisons with other deals.

It basically says that whilst the deal is obviously created to help with FFP, there are many other financial oddities other major football clubs enjoy and this must be measured favourably against those deals. Even moreso because the deal helps much more than just the club and can be seen as a long term strategy to develop, profitable and inexpensive home grown future talent

it also points out that wenger is a whinger

And a hypocrite.

Just got round to reading it, basically "Don't Panic!"

One thing I don't get about FFP is, how come it's allowed under European competition law?

Put it this way. Suppose I decide to use Levenshulmes new found oil weath to build a car manufacturing business to rival Ford, Citroen etc. The logic of FFP says that if I don't make a profit within a number of years I won't be able to market any cars that I produce.

That's madness, and illegal.

The first club that gets banned from Europe because they break FFP rules is going to take UEFA to the courts and wipe the floor with them.
