I don't know about technically SUPERIOR but pretty much as good. Aguero is also quite strong same way as SWP is strong ie he will not be pushed off the ball easily and can win some balls. He covers as much grass as Tevez do. Only real difference is that I think Aguero has even MORE bit of magic about him than Tevez but on the other hand Tevez is more willing to drop REALLY deep to pick up some balls.

I'd see a forward NOT dropping really deep as something of a bonus. It's always been a bugbear of mine about Tevez that he occupies the space that other players should be doing (eg, the midfield), and therefore we always seem to be one man short in attack.

Rooney did it for years, the only season he stuck to his position he had his best ever season from a goalscoring perspective.

I'd much rather allow a midfielder to move into the space behind the main striker, as that would give us 4 players as an option in any attacking situation. Interestingly, Nasri & Schneider excel at this art even more than Silva

Spartacus - I agree entirely with your assessment.

Not too much new on Aguero today in the Spanish papers. Still saying there are 3 possibilities:

Real - who have probably not offered much and are hoping to clean up if we dont buy him.

Juventus - who to my knowledge are completely broke and just do this sort of thing to make their fans feel happy.

City - favoured by Atletico, if we offer enough dosh they'll drive him to Manchester themselves this week.

I keep hearing that if Real Madrid trigger the release clause for Aguero, Atletico will make them pay the VAT as well, whereas we would not have to pay that. Surely Real Madrid would not buy Aguero under those circumstances. And why would he go to Juventus and not play in the Champions League.

Whole Juventus story is load of tosh and everyone knows that. They simply don't have that sort of money right now. Simple as that.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I think Juve recently got new investment/owners so think they do have a few quid - but no CL football - No Aguero!

As for Real Madrid, i'm sure there's an unwritten rule that Athletico won't sell to them, so surely that leaves us as the only real option!?!

Probably so, most people would choose RM over us, it's the old legendary historic club argument again, ala Sanchez and Barca.

Trouble is RM would have to match our £38 million offer now, something they don't want to do apparently.

Looks like Atletico have just signed Aguero's replacement (on a free transfer too) - http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 05,00.html

I think they would have to beat our offer myself. However it doesn't look like they want to fight with Atletico, try to outbid us (jibbed out on Kolarov, lucky them) or even really sign him. I suspect Jose would rather have a big player now, like Adebayor.

Watch this space, in the words of Gary Cook.

I hope the fact that Tevez is staying now does not mean we won't sign Aguero!

I heard that if he wants to go to RM they will also charge them some kind of tax on top of the asking price which ammounts to around 5 mil euros where as if he goes somewhere else they wont. I think it`s a tax anyway. David Y in Spain will know exactly what it is.

I cannot see any other club going for him. I wish the rumours of us swapping him for Sneijder were true though, I really want us to get rid of this little shit now. I don't care how good he is and how many important goals he scored for us, he has been as disrespectful as you can be towards the club and I cannot imagine him "just getting on with it" if it turns out he has to stay (at least until January).

I really, really hope that City are signing Aguero anyway, simply because Tevez still wants to leave.

I also hope that Mancini at least takes the Captaincy off him.

MEN reporting that the Aguero deal is on ice now that Tevez looks like he might stay.

Really hope this is not true.

the MUEN don't know shit....just lazy reporting of one obvious conclusion of Tevez staying

He won't be staying and we won't ice the Aguero deal IMO

I really hope so ant. I really hope City are not dumb enough to not invest into Aguero just because Tevez might stay another 6 months.

This.

Everyone knows Tevez will go, it's just a matter of time.

Would be foolish not to prepare for the coming storm.
