Tevez swap deal?

Postby Ruthless » Thu Jul 21, 2011 7:56 pm

If clubs are reluctant to shell out £50 mil for Tevez the other option is a player plus cash deal, as stated in another thread I'd sound out Real Madrid about a swap Ozil + £20 - £25mil. Good creative young player
Who would you suggest ?

Sure I read somewhere the other day that Aguero was on 250k a week - not sure if that was quoted in euros though

Not sure on the actual figures but i read aguero is going to be taking a paycut to come here.

Might have been due to the difference in tax though.

It's been suggested Higuain plus cash. That could be an option.

I think it was the same article that said that his basic will be similar but because the tax man rapes high earners over here it will essentially be a pay cut

Thats not gonna happen is it? I reckon the Nasri deal could well be virtually a done deal judgin by the fact we're not interested in part exing Tevez with Sniejder we must already have a deal in place for a creative midfielder

Unlikely that Nasri is nailed on IMHO. The little French gnome has to request a transfer formally. He'll have to pull some shit like this if he wants out. Will he uhm "man up"? dunno.

The latest Wenger quotes have seen him back-track a little bit about his stubbornness in regards to not letting Nasri go. He no longer seems as willing to let Nasri run his contract down and seems to hint that if he doesn't sign a new contract asap then they'll sell him.

This bodes very well for us :)

Starting to sound like a face saving thing with Wenger (if that link is credible) - he wants to be in charge and act like he's the one letting Nasri go, rather than all the rats deserting the sinking ship at once.

Ok, Aguero had year and a half on his contract (if I remember correctly) and would have gone on the cheap. He agreed to massive pay rise with big release clause so that Athletico would get decent fee for him. Apparently he had told them early on that he'd be offski sooner or later. I seem to remember that's exactly what they did with Torres as well.

Athletico aren't broke ass but they aren't filthy rich team that can invest 250k/w and basically 40+m (the fee they'll get for Aguero) on Tevez who will only stay in Europe for few years and then bugger off to South America for peanuts. That's just stupid "investment" club like Athletico aren't going to make.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

He is on over £5m/year after tax, so they can afford the wages. People keep harking back to the spanish tax laws, but the old system was binned a couple of years ago, and thereore the tax advantage that Spain enjoyed no longer exists, so he is on approximately £180k/week before tax on this new contract.

However, in this case it could be said that they are only paying these wages because they kow they would benefit from a transfer in the near future which would recoup the outlay.

Interestingly, his buyout clause value was reduced after the new contract was renegotiated, and the buyout clause only actually applies to Spanish clubs as the clause is a legal requirement in Spain. Therefore I doubt very much City would pay anything like £38m to sign him
