City Kids - The Next Generation

I must confess that, having lived overseas for the last couple years and due to the pace at which our senior set-up has evolved, I feel like I am not as up to speed on who is coming through our youth set up and who really does potentially have the quality to break through.

I saw that we'd played Espanyol the other day and read that we'd been playing this lad we signed from Feyenoord (Rekik....not to be confused with Razak nor Ruznak) and also the striker kid who we are looking to sign from Milan (Scapuzzi).

We've all read about Denis Suarez on tour in the US and we also signed the likes of Henshall, Roman and Helan in the last twelve months or so.

Obviously these are the most noteworthy acquisitions but I'm really interested to hear from those who routinely watch the development sides who they think might cut the mustard (or even, these days, just be given a chance/run out) at senior level....including our own products who have come up through the ranks (a la Devante Cole).

On a related note...did anyone see this Espanyol game? Sounds like we played kids (apart from Trippier) and they played some more senior players. Was it their reserve rather than youth team? A bit odd if it were...although...is it not Espanyol who we have some kind of tie up with so maybe that explains things?

Finally....Wabara.....where is he currently. He's not on tour it seems (which is surprising considering he was at the periphery last year)

Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
