I thought the entire first half our offense was dictated by the play of Silva which is why when he was taken off in the 2nd the team looked sluggish.

Tbf, when I saw the Balo incident my initial thought was that he thought he was offside. Stupid move on his part; Mancini made the right move.

Savic looked really shaky when he came on for Vinnie. Looked off his game today. The other 2 games in the US he didnt look half bad.
Clichy, despite his collision, looked very good on the left. Nice pace. Dzeko looked way out of it.

Guidetti and Lescott took awful penalties. I don't know why SWP was so far down the line.
Hart was fantastic, despite the LA goal which was impressive.

Bit nerve-wracking but a great match. Glad I finally got to see City play even though it was a preseason friendly with some of the squad players.

Day of firsts for you, hopefully with many more to come.

Yeah, I hope there's more to come.
As much as I love football I can't stomach the MLS so the only hope I've got is these preseason friendlies with European teams.
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

Hart should take penalties more often.
it would give me a lot of points on fantasy...

Watch the entire video to see Hart trying to put off some of the opposition players and gets booked for at at 4:26. This booking gets him banned from the final!
At 1:28 see Hart take a penalty

I think he should be on the list for penalties for England and City in tournaments.
I agree that it is dodgy to have him take penalties during a game. On the rare occasion he doesn't score then we will be very vulnerable from a counter attack.
Maybe if we've got a 2/3 goal lead and already conceded might be worth letting him have one.

Commentator on Balotelli's penalty: "You can't come to a complete stop."

Really? It's a dead ball until the kick is taken; you can do what you like. Anyway, he didn't "stop".

Idiot.

I find Clive "balmy night" Tyldesley excruciating, but even he doesn't deny the evidence of his own eyes quite as remarkably as that clown. How do football fans in America cope, apart from using the mute button?

I loved the half time comment about the two 'Diegos' for Uruguay; " Diego Suarez & Diego Forlan ".

Also when the 16 year old got away from the 'veteran' Savic. Our commentators would own up to stuff like that & have a laugh but those guys just carry on spouting shite with conviction. Soccer AM don't need to do a pisstake, they should just play excerpts from the real thing, it's funnier.

The best comment was after Balo did his daft backheel, the commentator said "that was something out of clown college"

I wonder how many years has he been waiting to unleash "clown college" into his commentating.

Only in america eh.

Actually there's applied university in Finland where you can gain BA in Circus Arts. So if you majored on "being a clown" I suppose you'd be in clown college.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

i actually went to the Circus museum in Sarasota, FL two weeks ago and read about the clown college. they are artists, and many, of course, were not American.

i would have been honored to be an esteemed grad of clown college.

No it wasn't...I'm almost certain it was Taylor Twellman as co-commentator last night.

Defo Twellman, they commented on how much he looks like Harty, which to be fair, he really does.

There is, but it is only restricted to enrollment by UK citizens or those employed on its lands! ;)

In fairness, the USA-ESPN commentators were too busy pumping up the MLS than really carrying on about anything of substance. Glenn Davis is normally very good on internationals, his color commentator is an injured former national team player who is just slightly better at footy than talking about it. I assume ESPN told them to talk it up.

Great to see SWP score a penalty.I think that's the first time I have ever seen him score after countless attempts in training.

As for Joe Hart I expected nothing less than a screamer to the keepers left.
