Nasri Deal?????? On/Off, On/Off, On/Off

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Nasri Deal?????? On/Off, On/Off, On/Off

Postby Niall Quinns Discopants » Sun Jul 24, 2011 9:49 am

http://www.teamtalk.com/news/2483/70591 ... Nasri-risk

Direct quotes from their chairman so I think we can safely forget about him now.

It'll be interesting to see who/if we had as back up option for that central midfield position.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I don't think that one sentence without any context as to timing of when it was said means anything whatsoever is off mate.

Hill Wood is just saying exactly the same as Whinger said the other week....

You surprise me NQDP, only because a website/paper put " " around words doesn't make it a direct or any other sort of quote, it may have done 10 years ago but certainly not now. I'm still very confident Nasri will be at City by the end of this window ... and you can quote me on that ;)

Exactly, don't really think that changes anything. The only quote is "It is possible we could lose the player on a free transfer but we are prepared to take that risk."

He could have quite easily gone on to say "It is also possible we will sell this Summer if the right offer comes in".

Managers, agents, players words mean fuck all. The only time we will know for definite if the deal is off is if Nasri is wearing an Arsenal shirt on September 1st.

It will depend, imo, on whether Nazri forces the issue.

As long as Nasri does not sign a new deal, our chances of getting him are massively high.

Arsenal WILL NOT let a player worth £20+ million walk away for nothing, the board will act, they are not fucking stupid.

Unlike Hill-Wood and Wenger clearly...

Wenger would cut of his own fucking nose to spite his face the daft emotionally unstable old bastard.

But that's why he is my favourite manager.

Unless nasri signs a new deal at arse he will be a city player sooner or later.

I think Mancini spouting a couple of weeks ago had a much bigger (negative) impact on the deal than people realise.

i disagree...i am finding Mancini quite fascinating this summer. He's been epic. i believe 100% that he spouted off about Nasri because the little frenchman would NOT formally request a transfer, tho he wanted to come. Mancini was trying to smoke him out so that he knew which direction to take.

I think Mancini is pushing some machiavellian buttons this summer. As long as he manages to get those couple targets in that he's probably pushing Marwood for on a daily basis then i'll be pleased. His media spouting off has seemed like a bunch of lathering up, but i think it's all calculated chess moves from our Roberto.

cheers

If your boss at work was negotiating a very delicate deal, and only you knew about it (aside from the 2 parties involved), but then you blabbed it in the staff canteen, how do you think he or she would react? It's a lose-lose scenario. Not only are you pissing your own gaffer off, but you're almost certainly pissing off the other side too, to the point that it could severely jeopardise the deal.

sure, sure. But i don't think that's what he's doing. I think he's talking only once he needs to shake something loose and not just to blab like a schoolgirl on the playground.

the deal has been stuck for weeks and weeks because Nasri won't formally file a transfer request. Isn't that generally known to be true based on the media reports we've received?

couple scoops of ITK are in order here, but it's just my instinct on how this progressed. Bob's trying to force his hand or move on i believe.

Have i jumped the shark and i'm now in league with the ironically dubbed Georgian Genius? Doomy Genius is fine. i surrender.

cheers

Hi lads, that's my first post on any foreign forums so don't be harsh on my english ^^

Anyway, some news from France. ITK from RMC (biggest sports radio here) says that Nasri have already chose Man City as his new team and Wenger already knows it.

RMC has some decent infos but a lot of times it's rubbish, but in this case they've been ITK with Nasri's entourage (lot of players appears and talk on the station and this type of stuff) so... it's not impossible that they're right ^^

I'd be surprised if Arsenal allowed him to play out his contract and leave for sweet fa next summer, thus pissing away a likely £20m windfall, especially for a guy who clearly wants out. Mind you, Wenger is a stubborn sod so you never know. If Arse sign Mata, Id say that will prob lead to Nasri being sold.
