They are rags. Nothing more. It will only get worse.

my old man has told me stories about away trips to anfield back then. he said it was not nice in the slightest

Steady on guys - remember who the real enemy is - we were happy to see the scouse do well a few years ago if it stopped the rags - they might be pissed off because they see us supplanting them - but that is nothing comapred to how we should hate the rags (IMO)

We should want them do well - we will still finish ahead of them - but the stronger other teams get then we might get these 'real' scum down to 4th and then hopefully .lower - I can dream

They are two cheeks of the same arsehole. For scousers now, read rags when Fat Ron was on charge. They are IDENTICAL.

Spot on analysis by a Chelsea fan on Twitter

It's funny how when #CFC and #MCFC spend money they are 'buying the league.' Yet when MUFC and LFC splash out it's called 'strengthening'

It's weird innit. Any general football forums that I have ventured on recently, have in general, thought we have become the most detested fans, we've all changed apparently, gallows humour is no more, quips about money have all of the hollowness of a Banker offering a good deal on an endowment ISA and we generally have become arrogant about the finer financial merits of the game, brushing the history, values and honour of the game aside in pursuit of silverware success .... and I reply "yeah, and?"*

Only ever detested them marginally less than Rags.
Their only redeeming feature is they hate the Filth nearly as much as us.
Horrible bunch of whining fuckers.
And everyone of them is a comedian. They're about as funny as piles.
City and sniffing knickers.
Come on Blues.

I *almost* hate them more. At least the Rags have actually won stuff to be up on a pedestal. These clowns think they've a god given right to everything despite being shit for years.

I do spend a bit of time on other forums to gage their views and on TEAMTALK join in a bit of banter. And I do find that the views of Liverpool fans are by far the most bizarre.

There is no middle ground for a start - they are either doomed or going to win the league. At the moment of course they are going to win the league, although some say the quality of their latest signings is so poor they are doomed. But their views on other clubs are the most bizarre and normally reflect some thick Scally having a rant in a pub, with no reasoning, just hatred.

Despite having allegedly boycotted the Sun several times, many of their views seem to come straight out of old editions of the Sun, Mirror and Star - issues dating from the mid-80s!

A note about fretting about them doing well this season - they only had one game where there was any real pressure on them to succeed (against Spurs for 5th place), which they lost. A brand new season (especially with their fans) means a whole stack of pressure and expectation.

I personally hope they finish 7th or something.

If I hear this is or this isn't "the Liverpool way" once more on Talkshite or other stations I am going to puke! They actually believe as though they are somehow unique as a club and in their approach to supporting their team. Case in point is that forum where one scouser said tht they are "building a family" with their buys FFS.

Also when safe standing is ever discussed it takes a nano-second for the bid dippers to start phoning in with their opposition. Cant have a reasoned debate with all their hand wringing. Hillsborough was a tragedy but that does not mean that the debate should not take place.

Spot on T H. 'orrible bunch of whingeing cunts.
Had 3 of them trying to introduce me to their mate stanley. (a was also just a teenager and they were fully grown blokes) luckily a loose fence post and a rather large bunch of city fans "persuaded" them otherwise!
they seem like jolly jokey chaps mostly due to tv portrayals - but they are far from it.
watch your back (and your front, your car, your house etc etc....)
I wish there was a way to know you are in the good old days....before you've actually left them...

Liverpool

They'll nick your pennies,
They'll nick your pounds,
They play their football in crumbling grounds,
They whinge, they moan, their birds are poor,
They are not famous anymore.

They jib, they snipe,
They'll stab your back,
The jokers love to have a crack,
They love their Mum's, they love their Dad's
When your asleep they'll rob your pads.

Kenny would want them as they were,
But they will never be Manchester!!

The behaviour of some of them in the wake of the Suarez decision has been pretty informative. Even some of the fans on the broadsheet newspaper websites have turned from being ostensibly liberally-minded and decent commentators into partisan headcases, who won't hear a negative word against their buck-toothed Freddie Mercury lookalike hero. I recall their outrage (or was it that of their fathers and uncles?) at the disgusting abuse hurled at John Barnes in the '80s and '90s, but now that one of their own is accused of doing the taunting they have done a quite remarkable volte face.
