Just searched on the OS as I remembered reading something about it on there last weekend. Found it at the bottom of the What the Media Says on Sat July 23rd -

And in true end-of-the-news-"funny"-story style, the Sun say we now have our own tartan. "After ordering 1,200 scarves from the AS Campbell mill in Selkirk, Manchester City has become the first non-Scottish football club to have its own tartan." Now that's a scarf we want to see on Roberto...

Not too much info but it wasn't denied either

I've got a City tartan scarf I picked up about ten years ago.
It was part of the Chav Burberry revolution and looks a lot like this one.
I of course am a full blown chav
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

HAHA

Made me laugh this one.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
