http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3727083/Manchester-City-back-in-for-22m-Samir-Nasri.html

MANCHESTER CITY are ready to make a £22million bid for Samir Nasri in the next 48 hours.

Sources close to City were last night adamant they will slap in a "take it or leave it" offer for Arsenal's French midfielder.

And SunSport understands there is growing confidence that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger and his board have accepted they are fighting a losing battle to hold on to the unsettled star.

City officials have been given encouraging signs that Arsenal finally want to bring things to a head and are reluctantly ready to sanction a deal.

There were even suggestions a move could be rushed through by the weekend, giving Nasri an outside chance of featuring in City's Community Shield clash with Manchester United, who also like the 24-year-old.

The big choice for Arsenal is whether to cash in now on an unhappy Frenchman or lose him for free when his contract expires next year.

Nasri insisted in October he would have signed a contract when there was talk of a new deal to keep him at the Emirates.

But he grew increasingly restless when nothing transpired and he is now ready to join the City revolution for £125,000 a week - just £10,000 a week more than he could pick up at United or Arsenal.

Both of these are probably not true but figured I'd post 'em anyways.
From SSN,

The Independent claims Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini will again try to persuade his board to sanction a straight swap deal involving Carlos Tevez and Samuel Eto'o of Inter Milan.

An interesting line from the Daily Mirror, who claim Manchester City are trying to sign Aaron Lennon from Spurs in a swap deal for ex-Arsenal man Emmanuel Adebayor.

Oh and this looks like it might happen too,
Skysports.com understands Man City's Ryan McGivern is poised to join Crystal Palace on an initial one-month loan.
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

I really hope mancini isn't pushing for a straight swap for eto'o - it has to be eto'o plus cash for tevez, has to be

Are my eyes deceiving me or have I just seen Michael Johnson stood next to Sven holding the Leicester shirt?

I knew it.
Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson, has joined Leicester City on loan until the end of the season.

The 23 year old becomes Sven's 9th addition to the squad this summer, and it's believed he won't be the last.

Speaking to lcfc.com Eriksson said.

'Michael was a great talent when I worked with him at Manchester City. His talent should have seen that he became a regular for England, but injuries have prevented that. I am convinced that Michael will be an asset for us.'

If he can keep injury free and rediscover his form, he will be a phenomenal player for us.

Sven's also signed Gelson 'Chicken with no Head' Fernandes.

Edit: Cheers Dub, just noticed.

From the transfer tavern,,,,

We broke the news to you 6 days ago HERE that not just the purchasing power but the ambition of Manchester City had turned the head of Samir Nasri.

Well this evening we are able to confirm that a formidable cash bid has been placed with Arsenal Football Club.

Our source believes that given the response from Arsenal which he described as, ‘An Ostrich with it’s head in the sand‘ and the response from the player which was described as ‘ the same as it has been for some time now…’

In a nutshell, the Tavern understands that barring a miracle that Nasri will be in a Manchester City player. In a matter of days…

I think there's only one reason why Nasri's not already in a Blue shirt - Fabregas' possible move to Barca.

a few little snippets of transfer speculation.

On SSN,
And more Arsenal speculation in France, with l'Equipe claiming Arsene Wenger is relenting over Samir Nasri and is ready to sell to Manchester City.

According to reports in Uruguay, Manchester City are among the clubs who are keeping tabs on Nacional defender Sebastian Coates. Juventus, Lazio and Dnipro are also interested, with the Ukrainian team reported to be in 'serious negotiations'. However, Coates is not keen on a move to Dnipro and Nacional are now waiting on offers from City and Juventus.

City is looking to sell SWP

On ESPN,

apparently no Tevez-Maicon swap
Maicon's agent, Antonio Caliendo, also dismissed the notion of a swap deal, telling IlSussidiario.net: "One thing is for sure: Inter chief Massimo Moratti has no intention of accepting a player as part of a Maicon sale. The president wants just cash.

L'Equipe says Arsene Wenger is now rethinking his decision to keep Samir Nasri and is considering the €22 million bid from Manchester City. Nasri, out of contract next summer, is said to have already agreed terms with City.
