Return Of The Jackal

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

I saw somewhere that he'd said they don't want Tevez. Don't know if it's a genuine quote or not though.

If they don't want him, then barring a sudden change of heart from Mourinho, he's stuck with City.

We must tell him now, that if he's still here in Sept, he's here for the season; we don't want this shit in the next window. If he wants to take a huge pay cut, he may get a last min move. Alternatively, if he wants to down tools & sulk about it, let him do it now, so we know where we stand, rather than suddenly seeing his arse at Christmas.

We need to deal with this now & get him to agree to it. His value in the books will be less come next season & at a year older, a lower transfer fee should get him the move he wants. Meanwhile, he can do his fucking job, which we pay him for, or we can see him in court.

A hard stance Ted, I like it. Seems you're worrying about your Fantasy League team as well ;-)

I don't have one, but City's starting 11 wouldn't be far away from it if we could pair Tevez & Aguero.

with nasri and silva in support that front four would be breathtaking.

Question: Would you keep tevez captain? Or risk alienating him further by stripping him of it(should he agree to stay the season)?

It will be interesting to see what Douglas has to say on how he has been and how his team mates have responded to him at training.

Has he done a report since Carlos returned?

I've only seen one report and that was about a week ago.

On the captaincy issue Dub, it will be very interesting to see who comes out on top. If it's Carlos then we'll know that he has had talks again and that he is staying for the season. If it's Vince then it's more than probable that Kia is still in the midst of arranging some sort of deal.

Personally, I'd strip him of it whichever way it's going and give it to someone who has the good of the club at heart, and the leadership qualities to boot.

I'd strip him of it and give it to Kompany.

Little bit of an Eto'o update,
Samuel Eto'o is on the brink of a shock move to Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala that would make him the world’s highest-paid footballer, according to respected news agency Bloomberg.

"Eto’o is leaving," Internazionale CEO Ernesto Paolillo was reported to have said in a text message to Bloomberg journalist Tariq Panja, who has a close relationship with the Italian club.
"He is going to the Russian club."
Cameroon striker Eto’o, widely regarded as one of the world’s top goal-scorers, will be the highest-paid player in football if he pens a reported 17 million euros a year contract - the equivalent of £300,000 a week, with a generous tax allowance.
Eto'o scored 34 goals last season and fired Inter to the treble the previous season, having won the Champions League and La Liga the campaign before with Barcelona.
Panja also claimed that Paolillo said there would be "no chance" of Inter signing Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez as a replacement, and that Manchester United target Wesley Sneijder would be staying, although those comments should be taken with a pinch of salt as club president Massimo Moratti and Sneijder himself have hinted otherwise.
Inter need the money, having announced a 69 million euro loss in 2010; Eto’o, meanwhile, is also clearly attracted by the incredible pay-packet on offer at the newly-rich Dagestan-based club, who were bought out by billionaire oligarch Suleyman Kerimov earlier this year.
Brazil legend Roberto Carlos plays for the Russian club, who lie fifth in the Premier League.

I think even Tevez would realise he needs to be relieved of the captaincy under the circumstances.

I hope we're not going to have numpties moaning at Tevez. The team and the club are more important than any injured pride the fans may feel because he doesn't love us enough. We need 47000 managers; getting the best possible performance out of the little twat & using him like he's using us. Tevez is a hired gun & the bullets he's shooting are for us at the moment. Until that changes, we need to help him, not hinder him.

Then when the time comes, shoot him.

Expect some boo's! There were people around me who were fuming last year that he was allowed to stay in the side after what he did and the club did for him, the summer will not have improved their opinions.

IMO he was never a captain, Kompany and De Jong are the best candidates they're natural leaders, this year he will be a rotational player so it would be foolish to give him the arm band.

IMO if he stays and takes our money he keeps his gob shut gets his head down and plays end of!

Im sure VC would be pissed off the most if captain wantaway gets the amrband and thats cause for concern.

I can understand why some fans would gladly ignore the negativitiy that comes out of his gob and just prefer to watch him perform for us but I dont.....fuck him....great player but a cunt of a man.

Aguero will wipe away the tears...Im sure.

When City fans turn on a player, it usually spreads nerves through the team & they fuck up, then the boos get louder & other players start to get it, then they get worse, then the manager gets it, then he ends up getting sacked.

The success of the club is more important than what Tevez does.

Wonder if Anzhi Makhachkala, having 'obtained' the services of Eto, might just be interested in pairing him up with Tevez ??

Their billionaire owner could certainly afford the transfer fee and Tevez's wages (although it might blow a hole in their FFP compliance)......wonder if we should dangle our little Argentinian under their noses to see if they take the bait ??

From Tevez's viewpoint, there's so much more to do in that part of the world, the restaurants are fantastic, the women are gorgeous and he could get himself a new bimbo at the drop of a hat, the weather is so much warmer than in Manchester, the language there is a doddle to learn and so much easier than English and it's a lot closer to Argentina than our rainy shores.

Happiness all round for all parties......it's as simple as that.

However, if Tevez is still with us at the close of this transfer window and we team him up with Aguero and if they both start banging in the goals and enjoying their partnership, wonder if he might just have a change of heart and stay for the entire season, with the chance of winning the League at the end of it ??

He could then move on to Corinthians when they have the wherewithal to pay for him.

i was wondering the same thing about Anzhi......although the weather in Russia sounds miserable and i think the city that Anzhi is in is not too impressive. not sure though. doubt tevez would go for it although the potential money could sway him.

i think he might be off to Corinthians in Jan provided we dont keep him and dont loan him out to Inter
