The more this has dragged on, the more underwhelmed I've become at the prospect of City signing him.

Mancini seems to prefer to let new players bed-in to the club for a while before he plays them (a good policy, IMO), so it could well be September before he makes his debut. Hopefully, by then we will be playing so well that he'll have to turn in some really good performances (when he does play) to even get a sniff at starting games. I'm delighted that we got Aguera and that he has started so well, because the other signings this summer have been pretty much on the functional side.

According to various sources the deal will not be finalised before midday and as a result of that, Nasri will not be debuting at the Reebok on Sunday.

I can categorically state that this deal is (.........could be............probably will be..........nearly...........almost...........just not quite..........imminent..........on the brink.........contracts on the table............medical booked..........fitness checked.............shirt printed............conference room set............camera's waiting............Sky reporters ready to report...........Cooky smiling.............Marwood sobbing..........Mancini chuckling..............Arsene crying............Arsenal fans foaming.........City fans doing the Poznan............Bolton fans doing the Pig Bag.........) going to be done sometime today, or tomorrow,or maybe the day after or sometime after that.
