Shame we couldnt get rid permanent

Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor has completed a move to Tottenham on a season-long loan deal.

Talks have been progressing over an agreement for the past couple of weeks as Harry Redknapp looked to bring in a player who would bolster his attacking options.

An announcement has now been made just ahead of Tottenham's Europa League play-off second leg against Hearts.

"We are delighted to announce the signing of Emmanuel Adebayor on a season-long loan from Manchester City," confirmed a statement on Spurs' official website.

Manchester City football administrator Brian Marwood had earlier revealed that Adebayor had undergone a medical at Tottenham.

However, Marwood stated that he did not expect further departures from the Etihad Stadium before the end of the transfer window, with Craig Bellamy and Carlos Tevez set to remain City players.

Marwood said: "Emmanuel has had a medical at Spurs today ahead of a proposed loan move, and the others remain Manchester City players."

Adebayor joined City from Arsenal two years ago but fell down the pecking order under Roberto Mancini, while big money was spent on recruiting other strikers.

Modric absence

Adebayor spent time on loan at Real Madrid last season and showed signs of regaining his best form, including a fine performance against Spurs in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

He was at White Hart Lane on Thursday evening to watch Tottenham's clash with Hearts, when Redknapp named a youthful line-up following a 5-0 first-leg win.

One notable absentee, however, was Luka Modric, who did not even feature on the substitutes' bench.

The Croatian continues to be linked with a switch to Chelsea despite Tottenham's insistence that he is not for sale, and if he had featured against Hearts it could have put an end to the transfer talk as it would have made him ineligible for the UEFA Champions League.

Redknapp left Modric out of Monday's clash with Manchester United after admitting his 'head was not right', but later stressed that he was keen to get the midfielder playing again.

Agent Ade, or Double A as he is now called, has been given specific missions in order to bring the club down from within. Firstly, he is to find Harry's triple A batteries so he can no longer use them in his Love Eggs which will cure the twitching - going cold-turkey and a straight face will eventually kill him. Secondly, he is to find the Brown Envelope marked 'For the Dodgy Bastard Only' and return it to it's rightful owner, the Tax Man, for further investigation. If the first doesn't wipe him out the second one surely will. After that, he can do whatever he wants, especially when it comes to our title (am I really saying this) challengers, especially the Rags.

If what Marwood says is true & we can't get rid of Bellamy or Ned, are we really going to pay them to sit on their arses if we have empty spaces in the squad ? Surely they are better than nothing ?

Wrong, and you know full well why. There can be only one.

Allowing a loan to Spurs is appalling management by Marwood. Ridiculous, utterly fucking shite.

Took us until the second last game (and an own goal in that) to prove it last season. Ludicrous all round (especially from Marwood et al.) to think we've suddenly eclipsed them because we won one trophy.

Weve won a trophy, gelled and added aguero, clichy and nasri.

Does anyone here genuinely feel we haven't eclipses spurs?

Spurs seem to have a decent team spirit. I hope Adebayor walks into their dressing room and vomits on it. That is all.

Agent Bellamy may be sent to Liverpool on a similar mission, if the word on the street is to be believed.

Did the season end already? Someone should have woken me up.
