Fair play to him for apparently making a financial sacrifice inorder to get first team footie, I hope it all goes well for him (and them). I wouldn't be at all surprised if there's a clause to make it permanent dependant on them avoiding relegation. (which would give him an even greater incentive to do well this season)

When he gets a few games without breaking down he looks like the kind of player who would get a move quite easily, but then just as he looks like he's getting match fit, he's off injured again, every single time. I imagine he'll end up back at City again if he breaks down over there. Surely they won't want to risk a deal where they have to pay an injured player, if they're skint ?

He's actually quite a nice bloke but his injury problems were well known before we signed him. He only ever had one prolific signing. What on earth Hughes was thinking about in signing him I don't know. He wasn't even fit when we signed him. I remember a fan at the pre season German training camp being told he would be fit by the end of September or the like. In fact I don't think he played a minute before Xmas.

Who's left. Bridge, SWP, Onuoha, Bellamy. Any others? Has big Phil got a team?

I think he was one of the best strikers to play against City & would have been just the kind of player we needed at the time if he'd been fit, but why the club would sign a player who had a long term injury & how he got through the medical, I don't know. Surely they have to insure him etc ? How can they do that if he's injured before he signs ?

No way would Cook & Marwood allow that to happen now, that's for sure.

Had a newfound sympathy for RSC after reading Paul Lake's book. Of course Roque can take comfort in the fact that he's made loads more money and enjoyed far better medical treatment than Lake ever did, but in his day Lakey was deeply wounded by the jibes & especially hates the "crock" label.

Good luck in Spain, Roque.

SSN,
Roque Santa Cruz hopes to complete his move to Real Betis as quickly as possible after arriving in Spain to undergo a medical.

Sky Sports sources revealed on Friday that Santa Cruz was set to link up with Betis after falling out of favour at Manchester City.
He is now expected to finalise a season-long loan deal and reports suggest he could be officially presented to the media on Monday.

Santa Cruz, who will watch Betis' Primera Liga match against Granada on Saturday evening, is looking forward to joining a new club and wants to make an impact.

"I have wanted to play in Spain for some time," he told reporters.

"I can demonstrate to people that I am able to do big things.

"My desire is to work this next week with the squad."
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

I wonder what kind of 'big things' he's going to demonstrate he can do ? Find cure for aids perhaps ? Solve the Israel/Palastine problem ? Develop a new foodsource that can grow under any conditions & donate it to the 3rd world ? Score the odd header ?

In the unlikely event that, a player who was out on loan were to get injured, which club would have to pay the medical bills?
