OK, that's pushing it, but there appears to be a large body of fans wanting him gone. That's often the start of the sacking. And 8-2...

And yes, it was grand schadenfreude to lurk on their forum. But, I think we habve earned the right to ghoul at others disasters. Lol.

That match was a bad one for us. The scum having a flying start has stolen our thunder so we're reduced to a byline. Not ideal when we're trying to use our success to expand our worldwide support base.

Might not be a totally bad thing as it could just take a little bit of pressure off us, with everyone focusing even more on Salford's Sewer Rats.

Moreover, The Scum have tended, more often than not in recent seasons, to be slightly slower starters, only picking up as the season progresses. With them kicking off like a house on fire now, who knows they might just falter after Xmas and we (or even Chelsea ??) might overhaul them on the run-in. Additionally, their rapid fire start might just be papering over some of the cracks that have yet to surface.

'kin 'ell. I'll give them the same sympathy as they gave us when City were properly going down the tubes under Franny Lee - none at all. Fuck the lot of them. Though I doubt it will happen, a relegation or two would do them a lot of good as football fans. They really don't know how lucky they are.

It's still August, the only fuck up they could do that matters would be losing to Udinese. Wenger managed that comfortably (home and away wins). They're reeling at the moment from their enforced sales, but I'm confident that they're capable of regrouping.

Wenger gets a lot of flak for transfer dealings but I think it's instructive to look at the case of someone like Carl Jenkinson. He may be talented (I'm not commenting) but he's a new signing (not Arsenal academy) with 8 appearances for Charlton. £1m for a 19 year old with a record like that does absolutely nothing to suggest that such a player is likely to be immediately ready for high level action.

There are three explanations as to why he would have played two crucial (to put it mildly) CL fixtures and against both Liverpool and the rags already.

1: Someone flicked a switch and he became awesome overnight. I think we can dismiss this one without further comment.
2: Wenger is raving mad, even by the standards of crazy managers
3: He doesn't have a lot of choice. Injuries and sales have forced his hand.

Most people would choose either option 2 or option 3. There might be a lot of truth in option 2 but I don't believe he had any expectation of starting Jenkinson away to the rags as his 4th match in a week and a half when he signed him.

You would think that a bloke who's been a manager in the Premier League as long as Wenger, would realise he needs a bigger & better squad. The fans know it, the media know it, Nasri knows it & I recon all his ex & soon to be ex players know it.

I don't feel sorry for them, they're no great shakes as fans. I just don't particularly enjoy them having a bad few days at the office.

I think the Qatari money at PSG may give him a gracious bow out at the end of the season.

As for who takes over. They desperately need a manager like David Moyles at Arsenal.

Arsenal have never been big spenders under Wenger, his transfer record with big money signings is not exceptional. He definitely prefers younger players so he can develop them.

He built the "Invincibles", the team that went the season unbeaten. But after that Mourinho came in and it was game over. Chelsea simply outspent him and he lost his most valuable players. Scum were able to keep up once Mourinho went. New strategy was to rebuild from youth and concentrate on the CL in the meantime. They got blown out of the water again when we started spending.

If you gave Wenger £100m at the start of the summer, he still wouldn't win the league, because Chelsea, scum and us would just increase their/our spending too. The real problem isn't transfer fees anyway, it's wages, the big signings want big money deals and that would disrupt the squad. Nasri was offered a big pay rise, but it wasn't enough.

Arsenal's plan was that they'd turn a big profit from redeveloping their old stadium into apartments and they wouldn't have debt. That hasn't worked out so they're trying to pay off the debt quickly so they can start spending again without worrying about problems. On this front they're in great shape: Chelsea will almost certainly not make a profit for years, rags have huge debts and we'd be in trouble if we didn't have an infinite pile of cash ( :-) )

Losing players like Fabregas is a huge blow, he's capable of getting three times the wages they were paying him and never showed any major interest in money. He apparently took a pay cut to push through the Barcelona deal.

him going to PSG would go completely against the point he is trying, vainly, to prove though ?

Latest odds for T4 finish are quite interesting. Scousers now 1/2 whilst Arse are out at 7/4. Spurs aren't a bad price at 4/1.
