Great player in his day and an absolute legend of the club who will, rightly so, be fondly remembered by everyone but...

...he was very much part of the deadwood in the squad and now was a great time to ship him out. Still only 29 so has a few years in him yet, just not with us.

Stupid sale. Well liked player in dressing room who knew where we are coming from. A true City legend, one of the last of that breed I'm sure. He showed in preseason that he could've still contributed. Not happy.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I will never forget that 4th in the 4-1 derby, no shame in admitting i cried in happiness. He was obviously totally knackered and couldnt be bothered running much further, dipped the shoulder, got some space and unleashed a fucking rasper. Then didnt have the energy to run and celebrate so just did a trademark massive smile and invented the "crouch robot" dance.

Due to how long he played for us, no other player has sustained a bigger impact that SWP in my City years. Very like-able, and I dont think he ever scored a tap in!

Thanks Shaun.

Could be worse.........we could have signed Owen Hargeaves on a free.

It makes whole SWP sale so much more bitter pill to swallow. Guy gives his heart and soul to supporters and the cause and the very same day we ditch him off, in comes some dude who "looked to be in top shape in his Youtube video".

Yep - SWP gone and who do we get? Owen fecking Hargreaves. Whoever they were who dreamt that one up, do another and then snuff it you fecking idiots. And if anyone starts again about him being past his best YOU can do the fecking same!

(Okay I feel better after that little rant...)

Good luck Shaun I hope you do well at QPR, but that's twice I've cried because you left. Hope you come home again one day xxx

I said this in a thread a few weeks ago but I honestly hope that in 4 or 5 years time he is back at the club, either in a coaching capacity or working for the club in a similar role to Paul Lake.

The first of our Academy graduates and will always be a legend in my eyes, Thanks for the memories Shaun

Absolutely gutted to see him go, brought tears to my eyes when I caught up with the news this morning. Big thanks to Shaun, and I wish him the very best at QPR, they got an amazing player there.

At least we got Hargreaves.

Trying to find a goal, not sure if Shauny scored it or not, but I remember it as a moment of absolute brilliance where he skinned a couple of people down the left.

Recent goal too, maybe last season or the one before.

That's really sad. Sad that he's gone but happy for him as he will be playing more. Will be wierd to see him playing against us. I'm sure he's excited to be reunited with Joey !!!

He's been lively already, could have scored a header and supplied a great cross for Bothroyd to mess up.

Now supplied 2 crosses for Boothrord. Somebody tell Shaunie, it's not Edin, Segio, Carlos or Mario up front it's Jay Bothroyd - you'll have to make allowances lad.
