(i wont even go down the road of the amount of personal attacks you have done on posters over the years...)

And where did i criticize the rags for over hyping with Rio? You say you have no prob with over praising an ex player but do when "dumb cunts" criticise the filth for doing exactly the same thing, well then theres no problem as i only fall into the 1st bracket apparantly!

Like I said, was after the post, not the fucking poster. It was a general "fuck off" to the hypocracy of it all. Never recall calling you a twat. And if you are posting your abuse based on it being me then maybe I shouldn't make the fucking effort to avoid abusing the fucktards, seems the effort isn't going noticed anyway.

Nothing against it being you, just thought your post was harsh towards me so gave a little bit back, i generally like your posts. Anyway its a nothing issue, lets get back to my point about Dunne been a hero ;) I hear superman is wearing richard dunne pyjamas to bed after last night :D

I got what you meant mate...

Dunne loves being the last line of defence, particularly when his team is being bombarded. He's one of the best I've seen IN THAT SITUATION.

His all round game has flaws and we all know that, but the man is a brick wall when shots are flying in left right and centre. Last night was one of the best performances I've seen from a defender in an Ireland shirt and there's been one or two pretty good ones.

Exactly! Paul Mcgrath reckons it was best ever, better than his against Italy in 94, we have somehow managed to have a great chance despite being atrocious, dont know how we do it but CYBIG!!

Nah, best ever was Glenn Hysén in a Sweden vs. England game from 1988 (WC qualifications). That game alone got him a Liverpool contract:

In Sven's season, we all touted him as world class and the next season people called him 'shite'. In reality he was a fabulous player and servant for us over the years. Pulled off some truly memorable magnificent performances such. Liverpool and both Scum games instantly spring to mind. Not quite in the world class bracket but a very solid defender on his day.

On his day.

Unfortunately there are many other days. On those days, he was a fucking disaster. On the whole he was average, as he was last season for Villa, when all of a sudden people stopped talking about how foolish we were to let him go & never ever mentioned it again.

I still disagree with that. In Sven's season he was very strong and consistent throughout. It was only really in the Hughes era when he became really inconsistent which is why people have a tainted opinion of him. He pulled off several fantastic performances over the years. Is Lescott really THAT much better?

The first 10 games of Svens season were mostly lucky/riding the wave. Kasper was making saves he will never make again, Micah was relying on his pace to atone for his lack of foresight, and Dunney was playing to his strengths, Mr Last gasp tackle/block.

We were found out after Christmas .

I would rather have Lescott or Toure over Dunne.

Yep.

Dunne is faster, Lescott is better at everything else & more intelligent as a footballer. He is still not at the level we would hope for in an ideal world. Dunne is miles away though. If he was any good, he wouldn't be at Villa; all of the top sides in the Premier League have been looking for centre backs, he would be cheap, nobody even considers him. If Lescott was available at the same price, every one of them would be interested.

Well that final bit's purely based on opinion. I really can't see that much difference between Lescott and Dunne and I'm yet to see Lescott put in a truly memorable heroic performance, of which Dunne gave us quite a few.

Tbf Lescott doesn't play in a team that gets turned over every week, or play with ten defenders in it's own box because it can't pass it's way out of its own half so it's unlikely he'll be in that position very often. I have however seen Lescott himself take Dunne to the cleaners on several occasions which have had me pulling my fucking hair out at the sheer stupidity & lack of awareness of the 'brick wall'. I've also seen the 'brick wall' turned over & ripped a new arsehole regularly by such luminaries as Joe Anyinsah, Luton Shelton, Caleb Folan (who the fat cunt was so piss poor against that he got Folan a transfer to the Premier League 'if he makes Richard Dunne look that shit he must be good right ?) etc etc etc etc etc etc year in year out.

Dunne is a loser who is happiest when his team are getting battered, so if he makes a mistake, he gets away with it. A scruffy backs to the wall hanging on pats on the back all round for getting away with it lets all go for a pint player. He is not the bloke you want in a cup final unless you are expected to get hammered. anything else & his arse will go 9 times out of 10.

He is a proffessional underdog & I'm delighted I don't have to watch him anymore.

Dunne was better than Lescott.

Lescott is now better than Dunne.

It all depends what shirt they play in ;-)
