Leaving before the end

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Can never get my head round it. You wait a week, spend money on ticket, drinks, food and program then leave before the finish? CRAZY! Though more so when we are 3 up and there is every chance of more goals. As someone who cannot afford to get to actually come across to the stadium I find it madness. When we have managed to get across we have always parked far enough away to not get caught up in traffic anyway.
I haven't a fecking clue what I'm doing! Gillie come back man I want my sig back. As the Photobucket thingy gone?

It's not just leaving early at the end of the game, it happens in the first half too! So many people have to get up at 35-40 minutes because they need to be at the front of the food queue to get their pies and/or chips. Can people seriously not go 90 minutes without eating?

The same people who stand in the walkways watching the game on a screen from the bar. Could never get my head round them people either.

The people who leave early can probably hear the end of the match on the radio and that probably is good enough.I think the majority of fans who leave early haven't gone because of the football anyway. They have gone to have a few pints see their mates etc...Watching the footy is better done afterwards when you can see what happened.
Leaving before the end just adds weight to the argument.
The roads round there are made for rush hour traffic its takes little time to get away in normal circumstances

Glad you brought this up, there seemed to be loads leaving before the end yesterday, I always stay right to the end except for the Swansea game , I got a lift with a bloke who lives near me and just as we got into Manchester he says I leave 5 mins before the end , I could'nt say nothing because I was in his car but I was not happy about it so I left on 87 mins and missed the last goal I was so pissed off , anyway I go on my own now and stay till the final whistle cant see any point in leaving early doesnt make sense to me.

I stayed until the end, walked a couple of miles to my usual parking spot and was still home in Cheadle for 5:30pm.

I don't understand why people are so desperate to get away even sooner.

Yep I never understand that either, I went and had a piss and got a pie at halftime yesterday and was back in my seat with about 5 minutes to kick off, christ knows what people do if they're leaving 10 minutes before half time.

When have you ever seen such a gifted team on the park before? Apart from against Swansea?

As much as I hate it, I can almost understand it more if you're 3-0 up or 3-0 down. It's when it's a draw or only one goal in it I can't understand. You sit through 85 minutes and then don't bother for the most important 5. Do they do the same at the cinema?

I can't believe we're still waiting for some selfish tosser to claim "I pay for my ticket so I'll leave when I want" in this thread. Normally there's one within the first 5 or 6 posts.

Maybe they are finally getting the picture that it's not all about them.

It annoys me and my friend massively that people feel the need to leave 5-10 minutes early. It's something I really don't like to see.

We're supposed to support the team all game throughout. I've seen so many late goals in my time that I know that if I did leave early, I'd miss maybe an important part of the action. My friend and I smiled massively when lots of people were leaving when we were 2-0 up against Notts County in the FA Cup and they missed three goals. Their own fault, isn't it? And the same "fans" also missed Aguero's screamer against Swansea - more fool them.

The club have tried to make getting out of the main car parks easier with all sots of traffic control which does seem on the whole to be working, and they've got City Square open after the game so you can leisurely hang out around there and soak in the post-match atmosphere too - all of which to enhance the experience of watching the whole game.

After all, would you leave a theatre before the final act of a show? Not a chance. Would you leave a cinema before the dramatic ending of a film? Definitely not. So why feel the desparate need to get to your car?

I must admit, I'm usually 5 minutes late after half-time. It's so difficult to get 4 pints and 3 fags down you in 15 minutes - might have to cut out the piss.

Some might have had tickets for the Bolton game too, I could understand them wanting to leave a few mins before everyone else if so.

If people want to leave before the end it's their prerogative, but they really should sit people who want to this do at either ht or ft in designated blocks.

Nothing worse than being sat at the front and people start streaming past you blocking your view of the pitch. Then when there's the possibility of a goal being scored/conceded they stop dead to watch. Selfish s**ds. Grrrrr!!!!
If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs, it's just possible that you haven't really grasped the gravity of the situation.

Was waiting for your obligatory appearance in this thread making the same comment you always do.

If people want to leave early what's the point in going at all? They are shit supporters and they piss me off.
