Spare for Munich away

Postby simon12 » Wed Sep 14, 2011 3:25 pm

One of my mates has had to drop out and has a spare. I know they`re still on sale but could be used by an somebody with a low points balance.

I'm struggling for travel at the minute, seems trains are more expensive than fucking planes and planes are a rip off.

Anyone know of any reasonable deals?

I posted this at the end of August, not sure how much the flights are now but it may be worth checking.

If anyone is looking for a cheap travel option for the Munich game, Ryanair are currently £72 all in for Edinburgh - Munich Memmingen Mon 26th 10:40, back Wed 28th 10:35. Brilliant flight times and cheap as chips.

You''ll get a return train ticket from manc for about £50.

Memmingen is about 70-80 min, away from Munich, a bus service is going into Munich.

As for hotels: It´s Munich Beerfest/Oktoberfest that week, so it could be not so easy to get a decent booking...

How about flying to Salzburg or Innsbruck and taking the train up from there?
Might be worth looking into.

The coach innovations one was my first choice but they sold out, i rang up to see if they are doing a second coach and she said they are going to hire one but it will be a normal coach (no recliner seat) and a tenner more. Cheeky fuckers.

Be grateful if anyone on here has any recommendations for hotels next week and advice on transfer from the airport to the stadium.

I am a bit late sorting things out but am flying out to arrive a few hours before the game and flying back the evening of the 28th

All my online enquiries are drawing a bit of a blank re any hotel at even a normal rip-off price - just wondered if any of the members here are staying somewhere they would recommend.

Proabably just have to get a cab to the stadium from the airport?

I will only have 2 & 1/2 hours to get from the airport to the match - but I do not think that it is a long trip (hoping) what time you arriving? I am just enquiring if there is a direct train link which might be quickest

Hope you and all other posters travelling have a great day - I have got sorted today - Hotel in Ismaning - not too far from the ground and on the rail link between the airport and Munich.

Hate to think what this trip is costing - but I know the family could go away for a fortnight for less - best just lie to the wife when she asks - trouble is she will see straight through me!!

Hope we get something from the game after all this
