wow.

Old.

Coach at QPR at the moment. I have memories of him being pretty good for City. He played alongside Vonk and Kernaghan right? Poor guy!

Unfortunately my outstanding memory was having to defend him against other clubs' supporters being played out of position at Right Back during Euro 92 by Turnip Taylor. Was always gutted Colin Hendry was binned off in favour of Curly Wurly too.

I seem to remember him slagging us when we went down and he moved to Wolves. If so, fuck him.

Saw him in Bromley London once whilst wearing my city shirt, tried to make eye contact to say hi and he just looked away. Bit of a twat I think...

He once missed a penalty for city and when asked by his son (or daughter?) how, he said he knew keeper dived to right so put it further right (and wide) - his child asked why he didn't put it to the left!!

Bet no-one can corroborate that story, but my mind says it happened

Best, on the ground, defender I've ever seen in a City shirt. Legs went eventually & was playing every game carrying an injury, but when fit, twice as good at defending on the deck than any of our current CB's. Would have caught Napoli's breakaway, taken the ball off them & speeded up. Remember Lineker saying he was so fast he took the piss out of him.

Apparently, when Theo Walcott runs through a puddle it doesn't even splash.

That's why Arsenal paid 12 million for him.

No way would Walcott run through a puddle.

I remember his debut...Ran up and down the pitch like a madman warming up...He was like a whippet Keith Curle..In speed id say he was very close to Terry Phelan.

I have so many memories of Maine Road and will never forget them.

I loved our mid-90s team. We had the fastest player in the laegue (Phelan) and the most powerful kicker of a ball (Summerbee) but nobody who could actually play the fucking game of football. Still, as a kid - which I was - you buzz off shit gimmicks like Buzzer's ability to twat a ball and overlook his inability to beat a man or put a reasonable shift in.

Ye bud..Great times the 90's...It was tough being a blue in them days..We didnt have much to shout about apart from a derby win but i i still loved it all.
Maine Road was a very special place..I remember going to a Zenith Data system cup match on a wed night in a blanket of fog and only 12,000 there but the atmosphere was still awesome in the Kippax.

Going back to Keith Curle..He used to run like Forrest Gump...Very upright with and effortless hehe.

Curle was very classy and fast on the ground. Couldn't really compete in the air though. I used to love watching him abuse the linesman for getting an offside wrong as Curle played a very tight offside game because of his speed.

Always felt sorry for him really in amongst the shower of shit that we turned into. His career could've been so different if he'd gone somewhere else instead of that move to 'money bags Manchester City'. :-)
