Most amusing City songs ever

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Most amusing City songs ever

Postby Alioune DVToure » Fri Sep 16, 2011 10:19 pm

My personal favourites are...

'All you need is Jo',
'Sven, Sven, wherever you may be',
'Come on feed the Goat', and
'Feed the Greek and he will score' (So much misplaced hope in Gorgeous George!)

Any more?

EDIT: Oh and 'Sven should pick Da-ri-us! Sven should pick Da-ri-uis!' That one was absolute genius.

Despite the fact that the fans at my end of the ground don't understand the concept of syllables, this one still made me smile the other night.

"Owen Hargreaves, ooooh,
Owen Hargreaves, oooh,
He came from A&E,
To play for Man City"

It doesn't really do it for me that one. Feels a bit laboured.

Is that a Peter Andre-esque compound of 'amusing' and 'abusive'? Insania.

I agree that there's been a definite decline in song quality since moving to Eastlands. It's harder to make up funny songs about players who are actually pretty good. 'All you need is Jo' tickled me when I first heard it.

I liked 'We all live in a Robbie Fowler house'.

I remember singing it at Charlton away for the first time and then they showed it on Soccer AM the next week.

Robbie is my landlord was also sung that day!

A couple of great Sun jI hai tunes, ai ai yippee was good but he's a chinky not a Thai was genius

Who's that coming out of defence is it a monster, the dunnie monster

And for once I'm grateful that the ageing giggs is still about so I can remind him off his parents marital status and medical condition

I thought the 'Razak, Razak, Razak Razak Razak' was quite good against Wigan, albeit not that amusing.

I was never sure why that died off. That always used to be sung quite regularly but then just disappeared about 10 years ago.

Uwe Rosler's Grandad song was quite fun, whereas "Ooooh Vonky Vonky" was a little limited in verse

I always found 'fuk off back to London' a good laugh at derby games.

"we never win at home and we never win away..." anyone?
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.
