wow.

Old.

getting old isn't all that bad when you consider the alternative.

remember him being likened to Beckenbauer. Class act
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

Didn't see much out of Curle in that one.

McMahon was awesome that day.

I'm sure I was there with my dad. This was their championship year. Didn't we beat them 4-0 and 4-1 for 2 years in a row at home?

The league that season - 70 points!

I was mentally scarred by being at Derby when they put 6 past us & Dean saunders pace was something we had no defence against (anyone's pace tbf). Fast forward to Liverpool + Saunders at Maine Rd ball over the top into gaping hole left by whoever, Saunders motoring off in persuit, Curle jogs after him looks both ways shouting for people to pick up players breaking in the middle, then just accelerates like a fucking F1 racing car leaving Saunders dead by yards & calmliy knocks the ball to the keeper.

Terry Phelan was not faster than him btw, just looked it because he was always sprinting about with short legs. Curle was one of the fastest in the country. I think the flying postman from WBA ? beat him in a sprint for the title of fastest player in the country but I think that was in the days when he'd started to get injury problems & become more mortal.

Incidentally, the 1st goal v Leeds would have been a goal v Napoli & probably the 2nd too.

Curley Wurley twiter account has a piccy of him in a City shirt as his avatar. He can't have too many bad memories of us. He also missed less penalties than fucking Tevez.
