Lazy journolism, as standard. Let's pick a player that his controversial, and build a story around something he's said.

The tweet says he must feel like an idiot, rather than calling him an idiot directly.

Personally I think this interview says a lot about Barton

http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/ ... -23427703/

But when trying to leave his decadent lifestyle, this isn't the best thing to be quoted:
“People are struggling to put food on the table and there I am with flash watches and cars. I told my PA to get rid of them."

He is so full of fucking shit, it beggars belief.

So you're not impressed that he "SIPS water" and "LISTENS to music"?

If that isn't proof that he is all grown up I don't know what is!

“People are struggling to put food on the table and there I am with flash watches and cars. I told my PA to get rid of them. “I can get a Casio watch for £6 which does the same job.

So he needs his PA to sell his car, he doesn't seem to do irony, or he does it very well.

Even more ironically, in the current economic climate, it would be better for the likes of footballers to spend what they can in order to give the economy a boost.

I missed him when he got sent off in the 1st half at Spurs & the team came back from 3 goals down without the cunt. When you asked most City fans their opinion of Joey Barton at that moment you wouldn't belive that we would sink low enough for some to turn the bullshitting scouse wanker into some kind of hero a year later. Especially seeing as he was slagging off the club in public & asking to move at the same time. Then he leaves, beats up a kid, goes to jail, Newcastle rehabilitate him, he plays a few games for them, is totally, fucking diabolically, utterly shite, they stick with him, he plays the worst game anyone has ever played in midfield as they get bombed out of the FA Cup at Stevenage, they stick with him, he starts agitating for a move & slagging the club in public.

Now, in his 2nd game for QPR, he's played one decent game, got a few plaudits & is slagging oppo players in public. Phase 2 coming next.

What about the games against Fulham in that season, he was brilliant in those games. Well if you're gonna be that selective.

No one is saying he's world class and how many times, I'm judging him purely 100% on ability, nothing to do with his off field actions.

So the loss to Stevenage was purely his fault?

Agree with you here. Apart from the fact that nobody in the thread described him as 'Championship'.

I either read that in another thread and put in here by accident or was drunk this morning.

No. He was just the worst player on the pitch, there were 10 others almost as bad. Just the kind of game you would expect the hero to show his credentials though, he usually shows up in games against shite teams when the others are even worse than him (or gets sent off) but on this occasion he surpassed them in shittynes.

I don't understand how people can view a player like Barton as anything other than average at best.

He's TWENTY NINE YEARS OLD!! What the fuck has he ever done ? How many decent seasons has he played ? During the time of his career, he's made 50 odd less appearences than Craig Bellamy, who's supposed to be a sicknote.

He's a thug version of David Beckham without the talent or trophies, just the bullshit & self publicity.

Do you think footballers buying designer watches, lining the pockets if the already wealthy will really help boost the economy?

'Before we start at the Lane, here's a little bit of Joey Barton for you. He's never far from the headlines, is he? Anyway, Barton has strongly criticised Wolverhampton midfielder Karl Henry after his QPR side beat Wanderers on Saturday. "He's been chirping up all week saying he's going to do x, y and z to me and then he let himself down by not showing up on Saturday," Barton said on Sky Sports. "I really don't like him. I'm going to go on record and say that. Judging from his tackles on me, he doesn't like me either. Every time I play against him, he's non-existent." Ouch.'

From BBC feed today. Never dull with Sir Joseph.

Don't dodge the question that you set yourself up for. I want to know why your knowledge of economics tells you otherwise.

20% VAT on an expensive consumer item means money in the public coffers. Joey Barton selling his collection of watches and putting the proceeds in an offshore high-interest savings account does not.
