Tevez

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Tevez

Postby Patrick » Sat Sep 24, 2011 7:44 pm

I don't see him playing 4th fiddle, i dont see him as a super sub either

The man was the most influential player to have donned the shirt in 30 years, played a huge part in our cup win, our CL qualification and our league position, almost certainly, the biggest part.

We all know the man has an ego the size of a planet and has proven in the past that he needs to be the focal point of a squad and to play week in week out if you want to see him athis absolutely sensational best......

But what now?

He never did well fighting for a place at scum, he doesn't really look that interested, he doesn't look like the man who had every one from the sheik downwards bending over backwards to placate his every whim, we have happily moved forward

I think this is the end, I'm gobsmacked, but also so relieved that actually, the club is bigger

I would love to see him just fight for his place and prove that he is just a brilliant top 10 world footballer, but I don't think so, he hasn't got the back bone

Good post agree with what you say.

I think Mancini knows he can't build a team with him as he might want to leave again.

But what can he do? Hand in a transfer request! Hope it ends well.

As you say, glad the club is bigger. It is a bizarre situation.

I see him as gone in Jan, Mancini expects his team to be all at it, Tevez, may give us some great cameos like the Derby.

" I would love to see him just fight for his place and prove that he is just a brilliant top 10 world footballer"

That's the bit I will go with. We have 3 more months yet and plenty of games along the way so I won't be writing him off yet.Still a quality player but whather fully fit or not just hasnt shown the same hunger and ability on the pitch when he has had the chance.
He will get some starts and other chances and I hope he reminds us what he is all about with some match winning games so that the decision for all parties in January is a tough one.

Although there is a question about his commitment to the club I dont believe there is an issue with his commitment to playing football.. he came late into pre-season and Aguero is ahead of him at the moment.. however the season is a long one and I'm sure by the end of it or by January at least he will have started many games for us.

Wasn't there a game this seasom where his warm up looked half hearted and his performance when he came on looked the same?

Maybe that's why Mario came on first today even though everyone and his dog thought Tevez was the man to bring on.

Looks like a fat lazy shit to me. Legend or not, its not acceptable. He needs to lose the pounds, warm up properly, and be begging for game time.

I just can't be arsed with him anymore.

Early days but I think his relationship with Kia is still a stumbling block. Unless Mancini sees that he is at least here for the foreseeable future then I can't see him being one of the first names on the sheet.

Like many echo, he has been a big part of our transformation and he definately has the talent to be a top performer once again. I've not written him off yet and hope he forces the current pairing, Mario included, all the way. Good for the team, good for the club and good for us the fans.

Many twists and turns to go and I for one am looking very much forward to it. It's a nice quandry isn't it?

I am in the same boat as you lads. It seems that Tevez has lost any interest left in his passion to stay here. I was watching the games he went in as a sub and he looked like ...meh, like if we win, draw or lose he may care less.
I really don't think he realise that if he is going on this path, with indolence, with this attitude, his chances to go to other club are going down. I don't think Inter (imho that is the place he wants to be, cunt Kia wants Corinthians) will be interested in a player that can't score, a player that looks like a shadow of what he was.

Interesting if we sell him, who will be the replacement? What names does Bob has on his magic list.

Nah, not buying the OP angle. I wouldn't underestimate CT or Mancini on this.

I'd rather put my money on the OP and the press, pundits and whoever being well surprised.

Tevez cannot blame anyone but himself that he isnt in the starting lineup - He wanted out..he slagged off the City and he also fucked off on holiday and came back later than anyone else....(Kun played in that tournament as well) and came back with more kilos on.....due to so called depression ????

I dont see him playing against Bayern..that will be Dzeko upfront in that particular game imo and the little I have seen of him up to now I dont care what he does as he seems a shadow of his former self imo.

The man is a bafoon, he had it all and blew it! Us City fans worshipped him, he was part of the revolution and could of had his name in our history books. He is a shadow of the player he was last season, the C.A. and the missed penalty, all the shit with his manager, us and his wife has clearly taken it's toll. I just hope we can get a decent price for him in January.........

Thank you Tevez but we have moved on, you could of been part of the biggest thing in football for a long time..........

world class individually, but when we play our best football as a team he is on the bench. Doesn't have the same mentality of pass/move/pass/move. With him it's more dribble/dribble/shot and most of the time it works. But we're getting to the level now where one player isn't good enough, we need a team performance

Agree with all of this, with one small note. He has a habit of starting slow in the season, so while he deserves this little punishment, don't be suprised if it doesn't last all year.

He's at least the second best striker at the club (after Aguero) and his work-rate is unmatched. He is a winner but needs to play to be a winner, that pissed-off look as he sat on the bench in the last ten minutes was of a guy who knew he was being hard done by. I hope Mancini starts him in Munich and he wins it for City.

The forward with the most experience at playign against Bayern MUNICH is Dzeko......and apart from today has played brilliantly and is currently one of the prems top scorers.........Its a no brainer for me.

I don't see how Tevez's face could reveal a man hard done by! Pissed he isn't playing, more so that Balo gets called maybe, hard done by?
There is no point arguing a case about him with Carl as he hates the twunt. But it is pretty simple and fairly pragmatic basically. Tevez isn't up to speed, he doesn't deserve any special treatment and perhaps most important he is no longer alone in being a top striker.
Lee's point is a good one too, he is slow to get going every season and tends to try to hard to score and fluffs most of his early chances.. we have seen that for the last two seasons. When he clicks he will be pretty lethal for the rest of the season. Regardless of what he has done to the club or what the fans think of him, he will be seen by Mancini as a major asset and he will work a way of getting the best he can out of him. As i have been yapping on for over a year now though, I'd be certain that Bob realises that Tevez's role will have to change and that the teams' development comes before Carlos Tevez's interests. The balance has shifted, the saga is over and if you see that then you will see the logic of using Tevez is simple and clear.

I also think Dzeko will start v Bayern, but i would also think that Bob will plan to bring CT on for the last 3rd of the game.

punishment? it's not punishment. It's a meritocracy. He doesn't merit anything more than he's been given thus far. Top teams operate that way. If the situation changes, he'll matter, if not...then he won't. Simples.

cheers
