It's fucking true though. People were moaning about Sturridge's performances in the reserves never mind the 1st team. When he did get a start, he was getting all kinds of shit for being a lazy/moody cunt. It's only his substitute appearences on the whole, that were any use.

Ched Evans was simply appalling. A headless chicken who used to just run into people - with or without the ball. I used to cringe when he played for us.

Sturridge always had the raw talent and I would have liked him to stay at City, but there's no way on earth we should have had to pay him 55k per week for his first proper contract with us. That was out of order and greedy on his part, and probably set his career back a couple of years. He is looking good now for Chelsea, and was good for Bolton last season too. Whether he can do it consistently though depends on his attitude - if he keeps his head down and works hard, then he could have a very good career.

He was so shit BECAUSE Chelsea were taking him. He didn't fucking care anymore what happened at City & had a huge chip on his shoulder. A full year later, he still wasn't good enough to play even a few games for Chelsea & they fucked him off to Bolton. Yet he's good enough for us ?

If Torres wasn't shite, he wouldn't be playing for Chelsea now. My prediction; as soon as they can get some new, quality, strikers bedded in, he's off to Wolves or WBA along with Wellbeck, Cleverley & all the other overrated bullshit ''wonderkids'.

Ched Evans was better than him for the reserves & tried harder. That's why he got an occasional game; reward for being better trying harder & not having already decided he was fucking off to Chelsea.

Come on Ted, don't be disingenuous. How many starts?

He always carried more of a goal threat than Evans, who must've started a fair few more matches. (Not to mention the fact that we often used Sturridge as back-up to Robinho, and stuck him out on the left).

How many did Evans start ?

He filled in whilst Surridge was playing like shit/injured/sulking/talking to Chelsea & then got fucked off when everyone was fit. Sturridge got brought on as sub, did ok, started, was fucking shite & dropped again. He was less impressive than Jo.

He couldn't get a game at Chelsea a full year later.

I'd bet Evans started quite a few more games than Sturridge, and the only goal I recall him scoring was the 6th in that 6-0 demolition of Pompey. I think you're letting your hatred of Sturridge cloud your judgement, because even when he did play (e.g. Schalke away), he was a MILES better player than Evans.

Comparing Evans to Sturridge is ridiculous.

It was obvious even when they were both kids and coming off the bench that only one of them had actual proper potential. Sturridge is one of those strikers who ALWAYS gets a shot off, and it doesn't matter if he's only on the pitch for five minutes. He'll make himself a chance. He did that even when he made his debut for us.

I don't particularly hate Sturridge, I just don't think he's ever been that good apart from in flashes, including now & I remember clearly the low opinion/regard he was held in by most people who watched his performances in the reserves/youth set up.

The idea he should have been rewarded more for behaving like a a cunt & generally being not especially good doesn't sit with me.

haha...don't be silly you beefy fuck.

He isn't in Balo's class, but i do think Sturridge is a very good player. We wouldn't be a worse team with him on our strike force.

He was greedy, but as I said earlier, i don't hold that against him. Asking for more than he deserved, and getting someone else to agree with him is really his job. He'll play maybe 12 years at this level if he's VERY lucky. And then he's got 50 more years of life to sort out with circus peanuts for brains most likely.

These kids with the talent have to push for whatever they can get and i don't begrudge them for asking for it.

Plus he's a talented player. For sure.

Look, if you had a 12 inch cock, you'd HAVE to make porn and i wouldn't be able to hold it against you. Mostly because i wouldn't want to hold it, but still...

cheers

He was a cunt yes. But people are therefore trying to downplay his ability. He has potential to really be a true world class striker. A lot like Balo in many ways.

I can't understand this "Sturridge was shit" nonsense. Judging by my fantasy league performance, I'm not the best judge in the world but even I could see that Sturridge would have a good career in the PL. It was unfortunate for us that the timing didn't work out (unfortunate for him too) - we have notbeen in a position to bring a youngster through up front because of the targets that we have had lately. Chelsea were already in the CL, so they could take the chance. If he was a "big time charlie", big deal. He has set hinself targets and it is up to him to meet them. He is getting there and I am pleased for the lad, so long as nothing he does gets in the way of our ambitions...

I laugh at how people are so outraged by Sturridge wanting 55k a week when no one lifted an eyebrow over Toure's 200,000 a week. In fact can you blame Sturridge when Wayne Bridge was on 90?

I don't care how much they earn if they do the business on the pitch.

I piss my self laughing at some of your statements.......especially the last bit..........Sturridge NEVER did the fucking business on the pitch for us...which is why we let the greedy little cunt go.

Excellent. Coming from the guy who criticises Dzeko all the time. A guy who probably scored more in 4 games than Sturridge did in his whole time here. You are as fickle as I've ever seen from a football fan. You're all over the place mate. Contradictions left right and centre. You make the board more fun though. Not fun as in "ha ha", fun as in "I just took another acid and I'm having loads of fun now."

That said, I always had faith that Sturridge would come good and it looks like this season will be his first real stand out season at a top club. Its not like he's the one who got away, because we tried everything. He's different than anything we have though and I do wish he was still here.

Can you not just accept I don't think Dzeko has played well enough consistently for us yet? Why do you always bring it up, I'm no less of a City fan because I think that. I'm sure there's players you don't like who others think are brilliant, everyone has their own opinion. Not once have I said Dzeko is shite. But anyway what the hell does that have to do with Sturridge?
Sturridge often played left wing for us and didn't get that many starts as well as playing in a much lesser side so comparing their scoring records is bloody stupid.

In fact I have never made a comment about Dzeko's wages so I don't see what relevance your point has.
