One plus point is that hopefully Micah will be bristling for the derby; Jones could be the red rag to Richards' bull?

When you see a serial failure like Downing come on you realise the loonies have taken over the mad house. With players like that we will never achieve feck all and every England fan knows it. The blokes bottle goes when all he has to do is cross it.Enjoyed savic's cross though, lol

Downing's playing pretty well in a team in fifth. He's getting some pretty harsh stick. He's done well this season. Just as much as AJ has anyway.

Not really about Micah - more the RB position

I have thought that Savic has looked impressive (and increasingly better) every time he plays for us - I just wonder if he could develop into a top RB? he seems to be a great tackler, has pace and a football brain and hopefully that cross for the equalizer was not a 1-off

I agree, alot of players get picked because who they play for, conversely alot of fans say certain players are shit because of the club they play for no matter if they are playing well or not. I'm glad Micah and Milner didn't play tbh

I have only seen him play once for the dippers in a full match once this season and to me he did not look to bad.The rest of the time I have seen him is on MOTD and he has looked very good.
Also his stats put him right up there with the best in the league.
e.g he created a total of 77 chances last season, including seven assists. To give you some perspective, Kuyt created 35 chances including seven assists and David Silva created 73 including seven assists.Downing put in 324 crosses last season, up there with the highest in the premier league. So for the comparison with AJ,I think Downing might be marginally better

Exactly, Downing has been pretty good this season. Don't see why people call him shite, he's done more than AJ over the last two seasons without a doubt.

Downing is a decent crosser of the ball. He also is not in the same fucking class as AJ & would be bood off the pitch if he played for City.

Well that isn't true. I don't recall far worse players being booed off the pitch. Johnson can be class but has many games when he basically does fuck all. There's not a huge difference and in terms of crossing Downing is far, far better.

I've seen about one decent run from Downing, where he was unlucky not to score a great goal. The rest of the time both he & Liverpool have been utterly inept as an attacking force apart from Suarez. I've absolutely no idea which team you have been watching.

Whereas Johnson has been consistent and great in every game?
Just look at the stats posted by RH, he has a great cross on him and that is the most important thing for a winger and that is what Johnson's downfall is.

His stats are almost always bollocks taken out of context or misinterpreted. I haven't seen Downing land barely aything near Andy Carol in any game. He's had worse service than Dzeko. AJ's goal last saturday was better than most things Downing has done in his whole career. Like I said, I don't know what you've been watching.

Well there you go. Or are you gonna argue that it was a crap goal which your granny could score? Or that infact Downing would be booed off the pitch if he played for us. And Johnson has hardly been miles better in the last year or so.

1) Can't be arsed watching it but I'm sure it's great & one i forgot about. (Have you got a video of that one Danny Mills scored ?) 2) Yes he would, without a shadow of a doubt & 3) yes he has, especially for England where he's been absolutlely fucking planets better.

Ted, If you seriously think Downing would get booed off the pitch if he played for City then you're fuking deluded. I don't recall single players ever being booed off the pitch for poor performances. Maybe as a group but never individually. It's ridiculous to claim that.
Watch that goal, every bit as good as AJ's. And over the last two seasons what has AJ done that Downing hasn't?

AJ has played for City whereas Downing has played for scouse. Plus AJ is a better footballer

Tbf he'd probably be dropped & sold back to Villa before that happened. More groaned off & half boo/groaned on as a sub.

Some of the players people have rated recently on here as good enough for City; it would be interesting to build an 11 from them & see it play v the City 11 they would be replacing. The Barton, Downing, Cleverly etc midfield with Sturridge & Wellbeck upfront would be interesting v AJ, Milner, Barry Tevez, Balotelli etc.

and if so, are you totally sure you are not getting him mixed up with someone else?
