Dunno but Bosnia would've never got a penalty from a similar situation.

Seriously though, I can understand why PALUS is so upset about this.
It is a controversial penalty. Sometimes these are given, sometimes not. Imo this was a bit similar to the one where Rafael grabbed Bellers' shirt outside the box in the CC semi..

And maybe the luck will even itself out for Bosnia too. Ireland was unlucky two years ago but yesterday they were lucky with the whole sending off -situation

It was a stupid challenge. Instead of people blaming the ref, blame the player. He made a totally obvious unnatural move with his leg stuck out behind him. If you do that & the ref gives a pen, it's your own fault.

I am not sure, I know the commentators were absolutely positive it wasn't a handball, but the way I look at it, if his arm wasn't there the ball should have flown over his right shoulder or at the very least to the keeper's right. It went left, so that was the biggest clue that it was handball and got it right.

When I first saw it it was certain red card. And it happened so fast that with the view ref had I'm not surprised he did what he did.
Looking at the slow motion replays it imho looked more like it was as much handball by the irish forward (name escapes me now) than it was handball by the keeper.

Oh yeah, that was 100%.

However they had a legal goal struck off before that and Cox's handball was not a cardable offence.

So when it all went down, they should have been 1-0 up and freekick to Armenia. The only reason Cox's handball was a big call was because a big call followed it and in that I think the ref got it right.

Only seen it once on replay but saw it at a perfect angle & it didn't look like the keeper handled it to me, wheras the Irish forward seemed to.

This things happen in football, that is the sad part. It happend to England at the last World Cup, it happend when South Koreea was pushed to the semi in 2002, the pen that France had in 2006, in the semi with Portugal, Romania in Copenhagen in 2003, what happend to Ireland and so on. Did anyone saw the Serbs last night? They had two clear as day penalties and the ref gave only one at a so and so situation with Kolarov.

It happend and will happen again, refs will do such a thing when you least expect it.

Just watched it now.

To me it looks like there was an initial foul outside then another offence JUST in which spells penalty.

PAULS - I love you man.
