i acually met gareth barry last weekend, he was back in hastings (his hometown) for the weekend. Naturally i asked him about the tevez thing. his exact words were 'carlos refused to warm up because he had just been doing that'. also said that since the summer they have pretty much hated each other.

nothing new but thought id mention it. oh and by the time he left he was absoluely hammered, he was buying alot of drinks! (for the whole bar)

EDIT - mancini nad tevez have hated each other since the summer

Seems Mr Barry is quite fond of a tipple.

However he didnt reveal anything there that wasnt already pretty much obvious.

from what i've read ... tevez would be the type of person I would hate to have as a teammate ... but I really wonder what the feeling amongst city players is. Barry seems to be on tevez's side there, but may have just been guarded in his comments ... though to say anything like that at all is a bit crazy.

really want this saga to be over ... but at the same time, fairly anxious as to how it will play out.

hopefully he'll crash his car into a truck full of pig shit on his way to Carrington, thereby ending his football career and creating a brilliant photo opportunity.

As a bonus, we'd get to claim for our 'loss' on the insurance. Everyone's a winner.

Now, where did I park my pig shit truck?

Argentina midfielder Javier Mascherano has criticised Manchester City's treatment of his international team-mate Carlos Tevez, describing their recent handling of him as "ugly".

Tevez has become public enemy No. 1 since the incident, with Premier League fans and managers united in their support for City.

But Barcelona midfielder Mascherano, who courted controversy with Tevez when the pair made a shock move to West Ham from Corinthians in 2006, has defended his compatriot - insisting that City owe him a debt of gratitude for what he has brought to the team over the past two seasons.

"Carlitos has done so much for Man City that I think it is so ugly what they are doing to him now," Mascherano is quoted as saying in The Sun. "I can't believe what is going on.

"Everyone attacks him even when he can't defend himself. It is so unfair. But England is a complicated place because when something like this happens everyone attacks you."

Some people on here need to get over themselves. Yes he's a cunt for what he did but why lower ourselves to his level? What's the point in putting so much time and effort into trying to end his career which will ultimately just be a disruption? Just sell him in January and end the matter.

Easy to say when you're living in a different country, rather than up the motorway. No surprise that Tevez should have a coward for an ally.

So if we sack him he's a disruption, but having him hanging around the training ground til Jan, talking to the players, causing unrest, with Kia planting another story in the press every day, another transfer rumour every day, threatening to sue us for constructive dismissal if we don't have a plan of playing him, isn't a disruption ? And if nobody offers more than zero for him in Jan, presumably we just pay off the remaining millions of his contract allowing him to become a free agent, then watch as he strolls off into the sunset with our money & gets a huge signing on fee with someone else? Or do we carry on til summer, then do it?

Hmm. Good plan?

I hope City don't bottle out the same way.

This isn't the first time that Maschecunt is talking about our club. I think in 2009 or 10, he said :
'Maybe if City got into the top four, they would build on it, like Chelsea did, but one thing is clear,'
'You can buy players, but you cannot buy history. At Liverpool, that counts for a lot. We play with the history of the club.
'We don't have the money that they have, but we are proud to play for Liverpool. I don't want to play for Manchester City. Yes, they have money and they are building a good team, but I am still proud to play for Liverpool.'

Mascherano came with Tevez from MSI who were headed by Kia Joorbachian Tevez's adviser. Obviously a credible independent source!

The man was the most influential player to have donned the shirt in 30 years, played a huge part in our cup win, our CL qualification and our league position, almost certainly, the biggest part.

We all know the man has an ego the size of a planet and has proven in the past that he needs to be the focal point of a squad and to play week in week out if you want to see him athis absolutely sensational best......

But what now?

He never did well fighting for a place at scum, he doesn't really look that interested, he doesn't look like the man who had every one from the sheik downwards bending over backwards to placate his every whim, we have happily moved forward

I think this is the end, I'm gobsmacked, but also so relieved that actually, the club is bigger

I would love to see him just fight for his place and prove that he is just a brilliant top 10 world footballer, but I don't think so, he hasn't got the back bone

Well said . Ive been following City for 4 years now and Tevez was my hero. My daughter who is four would run around the house at the age of 3 yelling "Caaaarlos Teeeeeevez" as she would score goals against the furniture or pets....and he really dropped the ball. Never can question his effort on the field....but off the field....we have to part ways. Sad.
