Probably just sit there boiling over until the people are down the tunnel before starting your rant.

Nope

If you're anywhere near Block 109 you will probably hear me as you pass the back row (unless I'm too busy supporting my team and watching the match to notice you).

Slightly widening the topic, the leaving early (which for some of course can be down to personal reasons) is only part of the problem. I have also seen a big increase in the people arriving after kick off and people off to refreshments and then late back after the restart. This menas you have 5mins (or more) 4 times in a 90 min match where you are up and down letting people past you - that is a big slice of disruption to the 'matchday experience'.

Top of the league, record number of goals scored per game, FA Cup holders, in the Champions League; I think it's about time we had something this serious to complain about.

We wait a whole two weeks most of the time to see the team we pay hundreds/thousands a year to see play for 90 minutes and for some reason people haven't managed to organise their lives to be able to applaud the lads off when they've just hammered villa and gone top of the league. It was empty at 90 minutes yesterday.

Rubbish.

Always stay to the end.

Clap the players coming off , watch the highlights at the end, saunter over to Summerbee,s, have a pint watch the highlights again.

I cannot understand why people go early , I pay to watch 90mins and I get my bloody money,s worth!

i'm amazed that anyone is surprised. The fans at the game now are different to the fans at the game 15 years ago. You're customers now - not supporters.

i know tens of people that never missed a game once upon a time that don't go anymore, and i know quite a few middle class families that do go now. a work colleague has a season ticket this year for him, his wife, their 2 kids and the kids' friend. he's actually (nominally) a liverpool "fan", and the kids were chelsea "fans". they don't go to night games, but they do roll up early at city square and spend a small fortune before venturing into the shop to spend some more.

he probably leaves early when city are 4-1 up, it's job done innit? he didn't have to spend years watching shite, so probably doesn't understand.

My pal was asking everyone yesterday why they were leaving early.
Was funny seeing everyone's face nobody kicked off back they just looked bemused at why he was asking and if leaving early was the normal thing to do.

Would have absolutely loved to see your mates face if one of them had turned around and said, "Got to get home because my wife is looking after our disabled child of 5 years old who is going in for an operation down in London tomorrow morning so we've got to set off and get down there as we're staying over night".

People don't know anyone's personally reasons for leaving early and it should be kept that way.

Yep, all 20,000 of them were off to do that. Fucking hell man, leave the bullshit stories out of it, that makes you sound a twat using disabled children to make a point. If that was the case I'd be thinking you are a complete fuckwit for going in the 1st place. Face it, they're just not very good supporters.

Or you'd be on here moaning about empty seats in the stadium if that theoretical person didn't go.

Never complain about empty seats but one that I could get into. In fact, when have I complained? Go on Dameerto, show me where I've complained?

I don't give a fuck about what you want to do to be honest, I'm there for me and mine and if you or anyone else wants to leave early then crack on sunshine, fill your boots. Support the club how you want, not how somebody else wants, shouldn't that be the way?

I wasn't accusing you of being a serial moaner, but the line after the one I highlighted has a slight moan-ish feel to it. I agree each to their own as far as supporting goes - I can't even get to matches but no one has had a serious go at me for it.

Ive never left the ground early, never have and never will.

As someone said earlier in the thread 90% of the people leaving early dont actually have any other reason than wanting to get home 5 mins earlier so they can have a brew before x factor or to get to the pub before the rush, i think its really quite sad that they pay a lot of money to miss 20 mins of it, ive seen people in my block who leave early stood in the queue at the townley still waiting on their first drink so if you ask me if these people are just as good a supporter as me then the answer is no. In my eyes then these people who do go just get a quick pint in are worse supporters than me and I'll take the piss out of you anyday especially when its the likes of you who almost made me miss out on the fa cup final tickets (got mine 15 mins before they sold out), if you dont have the common decency to clap a team off who smashed an unbeaten team to go top of the league then you dont deserve to go.

But the minority of people who actually do have to leave 5 mins early to get trains to london or glasgow etc i applaud you for making the effort to travel hundreds of miles to see the team.

I am worried that too many comments could create an us/them attitude and sound like moaning.

Suffice to say, from my viewpoint people have to do what is right for them - they are paying - but just bear in mind the impact it is likely to have on the team - it was a sea of blue seats on Staurday for what seemed quite a while before the end.

Top teams seem to have an ability to score needed goals in the last few mins of a game and I cannot but help the crowd plays a part - I hope that if the team need a '12th' man one day then more of the crowd stick around

I think this is has always been the case, I have said before fans queing to leave the Platt Lane stand is a memory I always cringed at, 2 lads next 2 me do one 75/80 mins every week, yesterday the stick they got was full on. Thye just laughed and mouthed drinking time. Good lads tbh, and I do see them at away grounds. No sense to it if you support City do it for the whole game " It is the Law".

That wasn't a moan mate it was a statement in regard to a badly phrased comparison, it was just a little too much to be making a point.

The rest was a bit of a wind-up to be honest, 'I'm a better supporter than yaw' and all that.

What I really hate though is people who whinge that they can't get to games ;-)

Yes, against:

Swansea when we were 3 - 0 up
Spurs when we were 4 - 1 up
Toffees when we were 1 - 0 up
Blackburn when we were 3 - 0 up

I am a bit more worried about when we are drawing or losing and need a late goal for points - just thinking we need to be the 12th man in such times - not meaning to make a big thing about it
