Been really impressed with John last two games, delighted we have kept him.

he's superfucking average for me. Should have scored 3 last night against a Championship calibre backline at best.

Let's see how he progresses but he's got about 6-12 months to show someone something.

I've been more impressed with Weiss to be honest.

Agreed Weiss has a really big part to play this season, he's looked class in pre season always making runs and looking to play others in.

Did always like him, especially when I saw/read/heard of his potential... But as soon as young players start talking as if they are the clubs top stars already, I like them a lot less... Good luck to him but I would not miss him

I saw him make his first team debut against WBA in the Carling Cup and he is too slow for Premiership. Makes John Macken look Usain Bolt like.

I agree with comments about Weiss some impressive matches at Rangers and a great pre-season so far.

So is it true that we paid £1m to re-sign him?

Highly rated kids with potential are ten a penny, so if we fought to get him back, Bobby must think something of him and have him nailed on for a role this season hence why he has gone on tour

Neither him or Weiss are good enough for the CL. I have doubts if either would cut in the Premiership.

Jo looked good in pre season last year.

Perhaps Cityger is more qualified than me to pass comment but I did see Rangers quite a bit last year.

Weiss at times looked very average against at best league 1/2 oppostion. He to the best of memory went missing against Celtic and was poor in the CL.

This is a very poor Rangers side and he didnt stick out like a sore thumb. I dont remember Bolton being desperate to extend his loan.

Good interview with Guidetti on the OS, he seems a bit more levelheaded than he has done on previous occasions when I've read interviews he's given.

I think he's looked a lot stronger so far then when I'd seen him previously....ditto Weiss. Sure we've not exactly been up against Barcelona but both look like they are thriving playing with higher quality players rather than being in awe of their teammates and going into their shells.

The points made re Weiss not shining at Bolton or Rangers are valid but Weiss has to be fair to him not looked out of place when playing internationally for Slovakia...which is a higher level for sure than the SPL. I've been very pleasantly surprised by him so far on tour though and wouldn't be against him getting a shot this season on his showing thus far.

If Leicester didn't sign him because he wasn't quick enough to get in behind the defenders in their league, there is little chance of him doing it in ours. However pace isn't the only thing(tin hat on), Fowler, Shearer and Horsehead didn't possess great pace, but were some of the most successful strikers in this league.

The upside is he's replacing Jo in the squad. The downside is he looks a bit like Big John Parkin (or whatever he's called) at Preston.

On the tour so far he has scored 1, assisted 2 and hit the post in the first game. Not bad for a 19 year old striker playing a total of 90 mins.

Supposedly he has now joined Dutch team Feyenoord for a season long loan. It could help him develop his skills. One thing's for certain though, he'll definitely get playtime.

I think this is all just postponing the enivitable "released by club" listing for him in another window.

Five goals so far, all on penalty. It's time he scored from open play soon ;-)
I watched the first half, but it was a bit hard judging his qualities. He did work very hard and constantly got in to the right positions, but he's team mates didn't deliver. The crosses were shit or didn't come at all. He really looks like a fox in the box type of player, but didn't get that service today.

Yep, but there are miles in the way Feyenoord where last season and now. If i recall, they lost 0-9 or 0-10 with PSV last year. I really loved the way he was on the pitch, although they where playing VVV, not a great team.
I hope this loan can be the best thing that happend to him.

If he doesn't make it; it won't be because of a lack of effort. His attitude is 1st class & if he can just get himself upto the standard required he's the type of player who could end up a hero at City. Big season for him.

So far he's doing an average job. His goals are all penalties and he has yet to score from open play. He does get balls coming in, but his first touch is kinda off. Then again, most goals from Feyenoord so far have come from midfield. I don't think there's many goals from their strikers yet.
