If you cut the media biased bullshit then what Platini actually says is "We are in the process of studying the accounts, and we will see what we can do" which is a straight reply to a direct question designed to create this story.
As for the "what we can do" part, the answer to that is fuck all, its too late, we are already top of the league by a margin and in the Champions League, the threat of a European ban is ridiculous, that was another thing that is regularly spouted by the media to create a story on slow news days despite Platini making it clear that they would only resort to that as an absolute last resort, and if City are kicked out of Europe then so are Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal and the Munichs as all of their financial states have either similar or less potential than ours.
If he was to go through with the threats spouted by the media and impose bans on the aforementioned clubs then he knows he'd lose out financially as the Champions League would die due to lack of interest. People like Platini do not put themselves in a position to lose out financially.
well you might think everyone is paranoid and you make what sounds like a very authoriative statement but I am afraid for those clubs highlighted (all except Chelski) what you say is simply untrue.
FFPR does not remotely find these clubs out of step - indeed the regs are purposely designed to ensure that this is the case only focussing on spend against revenue ratios and ignoring debt
Although the part where you say: "People like Platini do not put themselves in a position to lose out financially" is spot on which is why he needs to be seen to act by the clubs you mention if they are not to threaten (again) to breakaway - a course of action which is gathering pace
