Johnson reminds me of a young Stewart Downing.

Great attacking once again, but we need it. On the downside, Savic is as bad as it gets defensively, he's doing almost everything wrong that it's possible to do wrong. Whether it's nerves or whether he's just fucking shite I don't know, but I've been concentrating on him & so far, apart from on the ball, where he's very good, everything else he's done has been below PL standard. Kolo is better but only just. Neither look anywhere near good enough for the 1st team in those positions.

I recon AJ can learn to be a more central midfielder rather than just a wide player, he's a talented lad who runs out of space out wide & drifts out of the game. When he comes inside, he scores & creates goals.

Savic needs to calm down, he gives too many decisions for the ref to make (possibly trying too hard in this game, I don't remember him doing it in his sub appearances though) - Razak doesn't look too comfortable in the opponent's half although he got in a great position when Dzeko put him through. He gave the ball away once or twice in our half but was generally better playing in our hald than in theirs. Scapuzzi has had a good game.

Douglas Higginbottom wrote:Terrible for 20 minutes with Kolo way off the pace, Savic could have been sent off ( I didn't say should have but it could have happened) and Kolarov gave away a pen that wasnt given. So going one down was about right.

Then we started to pass the ball and play, got hold of the game as we should do and voila 3 goals. And the 3 from the players we should be able to rely on in AJ,Samir and Edin. Quality play for the goals as well and that should be that.I hope we don't sit on it though as another goal and we can rest a few players and have a look at Suarez and Rekik.

Agree with you here. Though imo Kolo was horrible for the whole 45mins. He is so rusty you couldn't make it up

Samir has impressed me today. Imo Razak has been OK too, he does need to improve his passing a bit though. Savic impressed too after the first 20-25mins. really composed on the ball.
And AJ, making a point here - exactly in the right way!

Have to confess that I missed most of our bad period because of a bad river. I've mostly seen Savic with the ball on his feet, and that part of his game has been good.

I think he grew into the game, looked a little shakey to start with - but settled.

I think Razak has been good, but is making the mistakes you'd expect a young lad to make, doesn't quite know when to release the ball but he is a rapid little bastid.

When he broke and ran it forward I was screaming at him to play it left. The little tinker.

Which brings me to the point....

How many of the goals we concede will come In the first 20 mins this season? We've done it near enough every game this season (not conceded but just looked a bit flat). Good job were brilliant after that!
