Kolo to go?

Kolo to go?

Postby Piccsnumberoneblue » Fri Oct 28, 2011 8:09 am

I'd be happy to see him off to PSG.
Savic is hungrier than him (ho ho) and already better, plus it would be a big wage off the bill.
Any fee of note would be worth considering.
On the negative side, very experienced defender, but he does look shot.
City and sniffing knickers.
Come on Blues.

He's a player who needs to play every week or his fitness suffers terribly. He doesn't seem to be able to retain any sort of condition as a back up man. Needs to go.

We'll need a quality replacement as Savic isn't ready to be first line back up at this level yet.

I think Savic will be fine if he's put in. He's played a lot at international level and needs to play in the Premier now. The other night he was playing at left CB instead of right, and had Kolo next to him!

However if we DO ship out Toure and Nervous Neddy, then numbers-wise we need a body!

If he goes, we should be looking at 2 centre halfs. Savic looks a long way short at the moment and is certainly no where near as good as Kolo.

Didn't really like him when we bought him and nothing has changed, over priced and over rated but yes, he has been there and done that.

He played a big part in Yaya coming though and for that I'm very happy, one of out most important players!

Lets hope if he does go his brother doesn't follow.................

I disagree.

The completely unnecessary body check and subsequent booking early in the game was enough to show me that he is not ready. In fact, he's nowhere near ready to be first line back up in the PL and CL. Too raw, too rash and needs to work on his positional awareness. For me he's a prospect at this stage.

If Kolo goes we'll need a quality back up who is next in line after Vinny and Lescott.

I said it only week or two ago that I think he is off in january or summer.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Add to that the shirt pulling in our penalty area during the Kolarov handball incident, plus the studs up tackle - three rash mistakes early in the game any one of which could have cost us a goal. He seemed to settle down later on though which was good to see. Maybe a run of games would do him good.

Think Ned is a quality 3rd choice centre back, Bobby doesn't rate him, we'd prob pick up some Italian centre half.

How the fuck is Savic ready to put in ?!! Did anybody actually fucking watch him defending the other night or were you just admiring him passing the ball? He was Darren Wassell's shit brother. He was beaten to almost every fucking header. Even Kolarov & Zabaleta had a better go at it than Savic when up against the same player.

In the 1st 15 mins: Booked for needless obstruction. Pulled a blokes shirt almost off his back in the box (should be yellow card & pen), dived in studs up for what should have been his 2nd, no 3rd yellow card & stepped forward to appeal for offside without looking where the line was (10 yards behind him) as a geezer fucked off down the side. This was alongside missing every header he was challenged for. The only time the fucker cleared the ball was when they passed it to him! I can fucking do that!

Two mins later, he dived in & sat on his arse allowing their striker to score. If anyone runs at him, they go past him It's not possible to play worse unless you score yourself.

I don't know if he's got the ability to be a top player in the future or not, I presume he must be better as we wouldn't have signed him, but if I was Nedum Onuoha & I saw a CB performance like that, then the bloke gets in the 1st team, I think I'd top myself.

Kolo is average & was also poor v Wolves & terrible for the goal, but he was better than Savic.

I should add; if Kolo goes we need to sign a real quality replacement or we are one injury away from winning fuck all. Savic is not ready yet, Ned is not good enough.

Has anybody actually seen a great prospect CB playing anywhere in the world ? A replacement for Toure should he go ?

It's not really full scale "I told you so" before he actually leaves. I will not miss the opportunity if it does happen. I can guarantee you that.

I see big potential in Savic. ball playing centre half who out jumped Zigic on nearly every occasion when he came on.
A second yellow for the slide challenge would have been ridiculous. The shirt pulling was a case of 'six of one half a dozen of the other' and you see it loads of times in every game.
Kolo looked like the novice raw youngster.
I have some faith in Ned still.
Plus Micah can play centre half.
I think Kolo has some value as a stand in cb, Vince and Joleon can't play every game, but goodness me, we're paying a big wage for a back up man.

The slide challenge would be a yellow 50% of the time. It doesn't matter whether it's ridiculous or not. The shirt pull was a nailed on pen & should also be a yellow card if the ref sees it. There was no reason to be doing it. Just very very bad judgement. All of his judgement was very bad defensively, as it was pre season & for Montythingy against England, where he was absolutely incompetent until moved to RB, where tbf, he looked ok. As soon as they moved him, they looked a different team.

I didn't see him v Brum but I saw him v Wolves come running out of his back line, get half way only for the CF to flick the ball over his head from 4 goal kicks, one after the other, in the space of about 3 mins. You would think he might make a better challenge after getting it wrong the 1st time. He didn't, he just did the same thing over & over. He got a free kick a bit later, when he did it again. Later in the game, when the same ball came, he did the same thing again. In my book, all of the evidence in the real world rather than the world of hopeful potential equals not ready for the 1st team.

That's the thing though, he isn't naturally fit enough to play second fiddle. He needs to play every week in order to maintain a reasonable level of fitness and sharpness.
