A second yellow for the slide challenge would have been ridiculous. The shirt pulling was a case of 'six of one half a dozen of the other' and you see it loads of times in every game.
Kolo looked like the novice raw youngster.
I have some faith in Ned still.
Plus Micah can play centre half.
I think Kolo has some value as a stand in cb, Vince and Joleon can't play every game, but goodness me, we're paying a big wage for a back up man.

That's the thing though, he isn't naturally fit enough to play second fiddle. He needs to play every week in order to maintain a reasonable level of fitness and sharpness.

We need to find someone brilliant. I don't know who or where but it's one of the few things we lack. Whether Savic is the next Bobby Moore or not; he isn't a reliable CB at this stage of his career & Kolo looks iffy.

I would like to see Savic loaned out to get more match experience. Short notice "recall clause" included if we get any serious injuries. Let Kolo go if he wants to, although both him and Yaya are in ACN in Jan for the next 2 years. I have noticed Yaya doesnt seem as happy lately, I assume this is partly because of the uncertanties regarding his brother.

If above scenario happens we need a CL experienced defender to compete with Lescott and VK and provide cover.

I totally agree. We should move Kolo on and find someone who can not only provide top class back up to Vinny and Lescott but challenge them for a spot in the side. Savic can then play second back up which is about his level at the moment.

I watch a fair bit of european football but I haven't seen anyone who has caught my eye. I just hope no one mentions Chielini as he has been useless every time I've seen him lately. I thought Victor Ruiz was going to be a decent player but I see he didn't play for Napoli last season and has gone back to Spain.

He played a big part in Yaya coming though and for that I'm very happy, one of out most important players!

Lets hope if he does go his brother doesn't follow.................

Ehh... That must be the other CB playing alongside our Captain.

What about that Belgian kid at Bolton?

On a serious note, would people prefer

(a) some shit hot youngish foreigner with decent amount of (non PL) experience (think Hummels, Subotic of last season, not this one where they've been shit); most likely overpriced & a gamble

(b) most definitely overpriced, (slightly above) average (british) player with PL experience (think Cahill) or

(c) reliable, vastly experienced backup, who won't challenge Kompany & Lescott at all, but who'll be, well, reliable?

My guess is we'll be in for Cahill. Anyone have a view about Hangeland? He would be great in the air but too slow, I suspect.

He looks a shadow of his self at the top of his game at the mo. What I want to know is why he looks so off the pace. He should have come back faster, sharper and fitter after having nowt to do for 6 months other than train train train, then a month playing footy to get his eye in, but he actually looks like he has come back from a 6 month lay off

Toure out in Jan, Gary Cahill in.

Cahill wouldnt be my choice but it seems blatantly obvious given Cahill's contract situation, our need for a c-half, our previous interest, his age and also the fact that his presence at Bolton hasnt stopped them leaking goals for fun.

Let's just get Rekik into Kolo's back-up spot....he's a kid but everything I've read about him and the snatches we've seen would indicate that he is the real deal. Micah was in the first team at his age. I know that this is a very different City operating at a different level but it's clear that Mancini rates him. Agree that we should sign someone proven if Kolo goes in January though.

Hope that the club manages this with intelligence vs Yaya though

Rekik isn't ready for a CB spot in a trophy challenging team.

Althouigh I don't particularly rate him, I'd feel 20 times more confident with Cahil playing CB rather than Kolo or Savic. I feel really disappointed in Kolo as I hoped he might come back as he player he once was for Arsenal, which imo was one of the best CB's in the world. Tbf though he's only played one game next to a competent CB & that was (ridiculously) v Bayern Munich.

Savic is all over the fucking place & if you're a bit rusty, it could make you nervous & prone to mistakes. Perhaps Kolo would settle down if he got a few games next to Vinny or Lescott.

The other important point is that Kolo has nowhere to go. He is another one of our transitional purchases where his salary will make him almost impossible to move on. We best hope he regains his best form sharpish!

Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
