Mario Balotelli's 'Super Mario' training snood scuppered by in-game ban
Image
Last weekend his T-shirt asked 'Why always me?' - this week, Manchester City's inspirational Mario Balotelli unveiled a personalised snood in training, complete with embroidered initials and a Super Mario symbol.
The Italian striker appeared to be the envy of his team-mates when he pulled on the winter warmer on Friday, featuring the famous Nintendo computer character which has spawned the former Inter man's nickname.
Last season snoods were banned mid-season, so this will be the first winter where - from the start - players will not be allowed to wear them.
But that hasn't stopped Balotelli flaunting his personalised garment to his smiling team-mates in training for Saturday's match with Wolves - showing why the spotlight always seems to end up on him.
The Italian's self-selected design bears his squad number, an Italian flag and the image of the popular character - but he's already been told, in no uncertain terms, he won't be allowed to don his prized possession on the pitch.
Cue mini grump from the moody Italian, we thought? But not so - it seems he's a happy camper at the moment, especially after his brace helped City turn over rivals United 6-1 at Old Trafford on Sunday (as if you didn't know already).
In both of their last two games, City have scored three times in less than five minutes.
If they manage a repeat of that on Saturday, it could soon be a case of 'Game Over' for Wolves.

Abdul Razak completes loan move from Manchester City to Portsmouth
Young Ivorian has yet to force his way into Premier League fixtures and moves to Pompey in a bid to gain experience before his return to the Etihad Stadium at the end of December
Razak, 18, has found it difficult to establish himself among the City first-team ranks following the arrival of several high-calibre players.
The Ivorian midfielder has started both of the Blues' League Cup fixtures this season, including their rampant 5-2 display against Wolves in midweek.
He joins Pompey, who currently sit 16th in the Championship, in a bid to gain regular playing time.
He will play under caretaker-manager Guy Whittingham following the recent departure of Steve Cotterill, who has taken charge of Nottingham Forest.
