It's a shame mine's a red dipper!

Really looking forward to a big night full of city. Although I'm struggling like fuck with heartburn and trying to sink these cans is turning into a home defeat.

Haven't seen the new "extended" version, but I thought that the ending of the original version was quite perfect actually. The hope and anticipation, victory within reach, then the despair of defeat, and at the end of it all, hope springing eternal. I thought it captured being a City fan pretty brilliantly. In contrast could you envision the Rag fans or their club putting on a brave face after a season ending in disappointment, nevermind endorsing a film project on the subject? As soon as they missed out on their final objectives of the season, they'd destroy all the footage and the fans would go AWOL.

The 1st time I saw it was the night before the Wembley semi-final, which was its own spectacular epilogue, without needing to be part of the film itself.
"Certainly our programme is a full one, but as a player and as a manager I've always felt that there is only one way to go into a season...and that's to try to win every game.... While we are in four major competitions we shall try to win four major competitions." - Joe Mercer

Hopefully watching it from time to time will keep us grounded, rather than becoming wankers of the arrogant variety.

Tried watching a bit of it but it doesn't appeal to me. Should have kept filming everything for a few seasons & waited until the team was built then concentrated on the quest for the league. Imagine the 6-1 etc on that & then an actual title at the end ? We should have realeased it if & when we eventually win the top prize or not at all. Opportunity missed.

So true, makes the loss even more apparent, but he has gone, he needs 100% adoration to play like he did.

But thank you Carlos for what you did

It's a shame they didn't cover the semi final after all the nasty bile spouted by their fans during the league cup games.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

Not seen it before thought it was excellent - captures that moment in time when winning a semi final in the league cup was oh so important even though we all know it was eclipsed by fa cup semi & potentially the 6:1 :) It's good to be able to reflect on the 30s, 50s & 60s and how monumental are achievements are thanks to the sheikh.

What it did make me wonder is how much Mancini struggled language wise to get through to the players what he wanted in terms of a system & now he has that system players (at the moment) can come in & out of the side & the momentum is still there (I forgot how bad his English was in the early days)

I find it odd that considering the media bias of apparent negativity that a lot keep spouting on here the sister channel of one of the supposed main perpetrators shows a program that shows us in a positive light.
Maybe it was rag propoganda and I missed it.

It captures the typical city perfectly.

They filmed it just in time. Just before we lost that mentality.

Is this your stock in trade, going on and on about how paranoid City fans are? It's all I've ever seen you write about on here.

Guv, I strongly advise you not to follow this course of action.
