Savic

Bought he did ok but was dominated in the air, didn't seem to win a headed battle all evening. Was at the game so can't be sure if he was at fault for the two goals or not but I think we may need a really dominant CB in Jan, hopefully Kolo out to make room?

I thought he looked ropey, but decent in other games. I think anyone learning that role at the top should ideally partner vinnie as opposed to either kolo or lescott.

Savic has promise for sure at times he has looked really assured and is very comfortable on the ball and other days he has looked the complete opposite.I think he needs more experience at premier league level but i am pretty confident he has the ability to develop into a top player.

Was always going to be a tough aerial nettle for him, probably not seen anything like that before to be fair. Shows how little Mancini trusts Kolo these days though...

As mentioned in another thread, thought he had a poor game that compromised our play, but fair play to QPR for putting him in that position.

I think the whole game plan was bad today, we underestimated them, we should have been better prepared for a short game as their pitch is small in comparison to ours. To pick out any single player is wrong, we were set up wrong. Savic wasn't great but what exactly was so bad?

Tough game in which to make your first PL start. He'll be fine.

Probably would've been easier for the lad had Kompo been in there. Lescott's decent, but he's not a commanding presence.

Yeah it was Lescott's fault,no doubt about it.

Seriously though it was a really tough full debut against a side who played 2 guys up front with heading the ball as a main strength.Helgusson is excellent at getting up early and staying there and we basically had no answer to it.I have no doubt he will learn from it ( I hope City as a team do) as I believe he is a quality player.Today though he didn't have anything like good game.

He was very poor today, but it was a hard game to make your debut in QPR put him under a lot of pressure I'm sure he will come good.

I'm not blaming Lezzer you silly old sod! I defend him almost as much as you do.

I just feel as though, from Savic's point of view, he'd have liked to have had his captain in there alongside him. You need one leash-carrier and one gimp at centre-half. Today we had two gimps, both just stood there in leathers waiting to be told what to do.

I think he had a good game
maybe we can blame him for 1st goal as he missed the header but we can't blame him for the 2nd as we don't play offside trap
everybody makes mistakes and i think savic will learn from his mistakes as he still young

Showed his inexperience, not helped by one of Micah's poorest games for a long time so kept getting exposed. Micah didn't seem to know what to do with sweeps so kept getting caught out of position. Perhaps it was the burden of captain. Would agree that he needs time, but don't forget he played on left side on Wednesday & on right today must confuse positonal play of inexperienced players.

i just cracked one offf over that, cheers. weirdo.

still undecided, but i agree that it would have shown more if he'd been alongside VK. one queation - is savic above dedryck in the pecking order? and WHY not kolo?

Sadly I think we can blame him for the 2nd goal as the cross was misshit straight at him and he tried to sidefoot it clear and it caught his heel or something and squirted across the box straight to their guy to head in. Bit unlucky but should have done better.

I was searching for an analogy that you lot could relate to.

Another question: Why was Jerome 'I'm a world-beater now I'm at Bayern' Boateng not given starts at his preferred centre-half?
