two simple equations:
1.
(broken toe + slow recovery + out of fitness + loss of form) / (others on form + team winning) = nige missing

or
2.
(contract talks + kia snake cunt) x (cheesed off not playing in the derby photos + bluemoon rumours) = nige out

Vinniy Kompany played half a season with a broken toe, so....

Fortunately it was Gary Neville's, wore it as a trophy on a chain around his neck.

Mind you, the "play through injury" philosophy seems have only been a feature of the revolting little man man you call "Clueless".

Bob has no such thoughts, I believe.

Well Bob has that luxury, not saying Clueless didn't but the squad looks a lot stronger and deeper now. But I can guarentee that all managers and coaches of all professional sports have at least a couple of players on their roster carrying a small injury but still playing.

I'd say Silva and Lescott are both carrying injuries at the moment, Clichy too but he seems to be spending a lot of time on the bench.

Much as I like him, I'm enjoying watching a brand of football that doesn't rely on a pretty one dimensional player.

Perhaps Bob trusts his squad players a little bit more now.

Think I pointed this out back in August; as long as De Jong has you know who as his Agent, he has no long term future at City.

City refuse to deal with you know who point blank, so De Jong has a choice - change his Agent and get a new contract, or keep the Agent and be moved on.

If Im a betting man, Id say he's a goner. Sad, but thats his choice by way of having that parasite represent him.

He's not his agent. Kia is not a FIFA licensed agent so does not represent anyone in that capacity, he just lurks in the background "advising".

Thats picking Gnat shit out of pepper. You know who is his "advisor" then, same difference. The fact that he is on the scene is the direct problem here - was told this by a pretty good source back in the summer.

This story was posted on Yahoo and Goal.com on the 30th Oct, seems contrary to views about him being unhappy.

Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong has expressed his delight at being part of his side's evolution into title challengers.

The Dutchman joined the Eastlands outfit in 2009 and they have since lifted the FA Cup, qualified for the Champions League and now have an early lead in this year's Premier League.

"Everyone thought I was mad [when I joined]," he told the Sunday Mirror. "Why did I prefer Man City above other clubs? But Sheikh Mansour's people sold the club and their ambitions very well to me. They told me we were going to buy big players and we would be making big steps in a couple of seasons. Everything they said was solid. They literally said to me 'within four years, we will have a team that will play for the league title'. And this season is the first year that is happening. I really think we can go and become the new champions of England."

The former Hamburg midfielder believes the spending which has helped turn City around has also made English football more competitive.

"You just have to look at Liverpool and Arsenal," he said. "They have lost what I call their subscriptions to a place in the top four. They now have severe competition from other clubs. First, it came from Chelsea. Now we are a competitor too. Arsenal and Liverpool are forced to consider making new signings to strengthen their teams. They can't survive in the top four with a modest transfer policy or just a couple of ordinary signings. There are six or seven teams who can fight for the four top places in the Premier League now."

However, the Netherlands international does not believe the spending of Mansour is an unhealthy prospect, arguing that it has helped to increase the quality on show for fans.

"If City had not started this development project at Eastlands, the European transfer market would be dead now," he said. "We are creating a bigger gap between the bigger and smaller clubs in the league. But the big advantage is that the public get to see an incredibly high level of football each week."

I heard Mancini doesn't rate Nigel highly because he offers nothing going forward, every pass is either sideways or backwards. Make of it what you will.

I could imagine that being true but it's not how Mancini portrays it in public. He says DeJong is vital.

You would though wouldn't you. Anyways, as with everything, take it with a pinch of salt. Makes sense though, Barry, Yaya both can do his job and still get us going forward better that Nige.

p.s I do love Nigel.

Every pass isn't sideways or backwards. A number of games last season he was playing probing balls into the channels. I remember one chipped pass where he played T***z in to score, can't recall now who it was against but it was a perfectly weighted ball over the defence, a Hollywood pass as they say, the type that when Alonso does it everyone creams themselves over it.

I think that's fair enough, he does play some decent forward passes but I've noticed how when Barry is on his game, he finds a lot more ways to get the ball to the players who matter, quicker than Nige does.

I don't think Yaya or Barry can replce him at his destroyer job though.

That bit hasn't been true since early last season.

Don't shoot the messenger...

I'm in agreement with Ted in that I love De Jong, an think he can go forward, just not half as good as Yaya an not quite as good as Barry although I don't see much difference.

His play has progressed and he is vital to our club, however, I feel he may be going elsewhere only because City has so much right now...I think in Mancini's mind he feels he would like to have Nigel...but its not a must. As long as he doesnt go to ...dare I say......United.....

Im trying to get my mug around seeing him playing midfield behind Sponge Bob/Shrek......
