I'd swap him for one of Big Al's shirts, providing he had to wear Herman like a scarf the next time he was on

Were you expecting anything else? His buddy was the one who annoyed me, he has proven he knows nothing of Barca's current form. Too many people suck them off on hearsay and obviously dont watch them. I have not been impressed with Barca in the slightest since the end of last season.

I'm just watching MotD and what can I say, this new studio is making them all look like stooges in the Grumpy Old Men. Lineker looks like he's been on the Cabbage Diet, Hansen like a wrinkly old dog and Shearer needs a Shrek piece to keep that balding (ed) fatch warm. Hansen though, looks like he's gonna drop soon.

Good to see Shearer quivering and not able to say a decent thing about City, just the usual 'If's and But's' - 'If' we'd have scored early on or at 2 down, it's have been a different game.

Ha ha ha, now they think it's alright for the Blackburn goal.

Fuck 'em, fuck 'em all!

Fuck, forgot to mention, think MotD is the dogs, wouldn't miss it for the world. It's an institution you see, part of my life, the make-up of English football.

It's just the SHITE pundits I hate. Is that OK?

They don't have an agenda against us. People who hark on about how they supposedly do need a hobby.

That's good. So you obviously think that these pundits are good enough to give a decent insight to football?

Looking at Hansens face, he looks like a man who knows he's on the way out, in fact, they all do. I like my football and regardless if it's us or the Rags I want to hear a fair opinion of the game. MotD can't do that, they just spout the usual 'Big 4' shite knowing they reach out to the bigger audience.

Hopefully they'll change that soon mate, also with the pundits. They need a fresh line-up as Sky have done with Rat-Boy. We all know that he's a twat but at least he gives decent insight and coverage of the game. Even the 6-1!

Presumably posted after or during MotD? Heard him grudgingly discussing City for all of 30 seconds on 5 Live, and could tell he was sulking. How this monotonous tosser ever got a job on TV I can only guess, but my guess is that it involves golf somewhere along the line. Needless to say, he could only ever be employed by a sports programme, as everyone else clearly has higher standards and expects some level of professionalism, knowledge and personality from their presenters and talking heads.

As an aside, has anyone else noticed how ageing ex players look about twenty years older the minute they put on a football kit? I'm thinking of those "legends" matches they sometiimes trot out (used to trot out?) on Sky, usually featuring the likes of Hansen and very unlegendary ex pros such as Mickey Thomas and Dion Dublin.

These motd buffoons come out with some garbage. I can live with the fact that Shearer will show some blinkered opinions when we play Newcastle. However i can't accept Hansen's snide remarks "In your dreams Roberto" re some Barcelona reference.

Also not picked up is the stupid and unnecessary change made in the rules some years ago about taking "dead ball" kicks like corners or goalkicks and freekicks. It used to be that the ball must roll it's circumference. Now you can just touch it, which if the ref doesn't see (or anybody else for that matter, except cameras), it opens the way to cheating . These idiots didn't pick up on this , a change that allows players like Pederson to cheat.

We've seen the type of slimeball Pederson is many times playing against City. He should have had a penalty given against him as well.

Shearer and Hansen need replacing.

I actualy dont think the comments were that far wrong to be fair, we were very workman like against the barcodes. We had some nice bits of play but over all didn't let fly, so I dont really see what all the fuss is about.

Agreed, I dont think they have particular dislike for City, I just think they dont actually watch the games, their opinions are often outdated and misinformed, I have suspected for a long while that they only watch the highlights which have previously been edited (usually to make games seem more even and interesting than they were). If Hanson has actually watched how poor Barca have been in the vast majority of games since the Champions League final then he wouldnt be so sure to mock our current level.

It would be an impossibility for them to watch the entire 90 minutes of every match before they go on air (assuming it's even live), so their opinions are all but invalid before they even utter them. If the highlights they do watch (if they can be bothered) are misrepresentative of the match and out of context, then their opinions are based on misleading information, making them even more invalid. It's the fault of the outdated format of the show as much as anything, but when you add smug, surly, biased and lazy stooges to the mix you have a largely unwatchable product. Also, with so much football available to watch out there, five to ten minute match highlights are joke.

I'm also wondering exactly how much time Lineker and co. actually spend on air each week. Twenty minutes? Fifteen? If the show isn't live, it's unlikely they will want to sit through highlights of matches they have already seen, and it's more likely that they will just record their thoughts with the highlights edited in. If not, it's little wonder everything seems like such a chore to them.
