Micah wasn't even on the bench so he may have been injured but there was no excuse to play Kolarov. Every time he gets the ball his first reaction is to pass it back to the player who just gave it to him - what's the fucking point in doing that? Not to mention he is constantly out of position when the opposition attack down the right cos he doesn't have the pace to get back. I never want to see the shit bastard in a City shirt again - one of the worst left backs I have ever seen at the club.

Mancini made a cock up of his team selection and tactics today - he should have subbed off Dzeko and De Jong at half time and given Aguero and Nasri more time to get in the game and get at the Napoli defence. Aguero almost changed the game in 10 mins; imagine waht he could have done in 45?

tacticly we got it wrong should have gone for width rather than going throught the middle AJ and kun should have come on at half time dzeko had a poor game and so did the back 4 we missed clichy and richards big time. Milner Hart and Mario all were awesome.

Not until the quarters - will depend on how we are in the league. It´s clear to me from tonights line up the PL is Bobs priority. He knows he can´t play his top eleven every game and has sacrificed something in the hope we might get a draw. Tonights result has always had an air of inevitability about it imo

Really annoyed that the go compare advert just came on. I hate that advert. My concern about losing tonight is now all about whether it affects us in our next few league games. The league is our main target this year imo. Too much not right tonight to go on about.

Hart-solid
Kolarov-woefull
Lescott- uncomfortable
Vinny-OK
Zab- stale
Dejong-rusty
Silva-vivid
Balo-tried
Millner-MoM
Zdeko-invicible
Yaya-slow

Dissapointed but I think Napoli will blow it big time in Spain. If we can exploit that against the real ones is an other matter.

I would love us to sign Cavani and Lavezzi. They are top players and we couldn't handle the pair of them all night, especially Lavezzi who I would vote MOTM

I thought Napoli played well. They are a very good team who are going to surprise a few people in the later stages of this competition.

disgusted at the way we approached that game,we knew napoli's trump card was their pace, we had our fastest full back and striker on the bench, aquero must feel disgusted too at being left on the bench so long

How? It's not like we were playing the kids. Virtually the entire side had champs league experience. Yes we could buy a few more players, but how about coaching the ones we have?

Seems churlish to complain considering the domestic form, but Bob's record in Europe is pretty poor and over the last few months I think we've seen why.

Don´t know why but I just have this feeling they would bomb with the physical demands of the PL. Other lesser Italian sides have coped with them

Presume that should be invincible - does it mean something different in Swedish, as in adjectives I'd use to describe him, it's way, way down the list.

On a posotive note we can put Dzeko,De Jong,Kolarov,Zabs back on the bench and play our best team against the scousers as Aguero,Richards,Clichy and Barry were rested.

Every cloud and all that.

There are various selection things that can be argued after the event but when Platt was interviewed at half time, he stressed the importance of not giving the ball away in the middle & how they had talked about it. We kicked off & Yaya Toure could not have done a better job of giving the ball away in the middle if he had been hired to do so; he was fucking pathetic.

It set the tone for a build up of pressure & their goal resulted from it. I made the point in the thread about him that when he plays the withdrawn role he is unreliable. Against Bayern he failed to track players going into our box & he did the same today; players were left to take up positions inside our penalty area whilst he stood in open space, eventually they scored from such an area. A quality defensive midfielder would have piled in & stopped Cavani from getting a shot in. Yaya could have done so without breaking sweat but didn't. It's no use saying "oh so & so should be there" " it's not my job" etc move your fucking arse, bail out the defence & then shout about it. He has been a weak link in that position & a strong point when played further forward. I never wat to see him in that role again v a decent side.

Kolarov btw has proved today that he's not good enough to play fullback at the top level but I think at least half of us already knew that.

I don't mind losing games if we do our best but imo both v Napoli & Bayern, we have played at a level which would lose us most PL away games. We are dodgy at the back & lack the same threat up front; it is not the same team. That team we saw tonight would not get top 4 in the Prem; no chance.
