He'll make up for the lack of payrise with a relegation bonus - Venky's are just trying to keep him incentivised to stay at the bottom.

Not sure what you're on about.

They DID give him a payrise - it's in the title of the story.

They also gave him 14 chickens.

Unlike Steve Kean. I'm unable to see what they are building there, unless it is a huge slaughterhouse, in which case I hope they see off a few of those stupid old cunts in the main stand, who are just about the most clueless wankers ever to attend a game of football.

However, I know a very nice young lady who is a fanatical Blackburn supporter & seems increasingly in need of a hug & things after a few drinks, so keep up the good work chickenfriends.

I must be tired - I read it as contract extension but no payrise.

Other than losing a cup quarter final to a Championship team, obviously.

he did. though it displayed a spectacular lack of awareness. i still feel very sorry for him tho - and the rovers fans. If venky's had a plan - it's not working.

one of my very closest mates is a huge blackburn fan, and he said that one of things that's really getting to the fans is that they feel this is a huge insult to the memory of jack walker. when the walker trust or whoever sold it to venky's they were apparenly given lots of assurances hat have already been broken.

But you'd agree that staging a protest during a match that your team are winning is pretty pathetic, right?

i dunno bout pathetic - they really feel like they've been shafted. Personally, I'd keep the protests til the end of the game whether you're winning or losing. strange thing is - for the (alleged) strength of feeling - there don't appear to be a particularly high percentage that are actually staying behind at the end of games.

200 out of 23,000 yesterday. Not even 1%.

They wanted investment and to see the back of Allardyce. They got both. Things aren't going to improve if they don't give the manager and the team some breathing space. The signs are there that things might pick up - 7 goals and 4 points from their last two games. Only Wigan and Swansea, but still.

A good season for a club of their stature would be a 13th-placed finish. That's still not out of the question.

Appparently Venkys put on an offer whereby you got a ticket to the Swansea, West Brom and Bolton games for 20 quid. That's a cracking deal.

their net transfer spend is minus £17M and they've appointed an unknown manager with no experience - to be fair, i don't think that's what venky's promised when they took over.

i think this is quite a good, balanced(ish) article on the situation:

Fair point, but you're discounting the fact that they've promised him a warchest of ten pounds for the January transfer window.

EDIT: Brilliant comment from Burnley fan 'spike t' underneath that opinion piece:

when Burnley got relegated the Rovers sang about having a party. That song has come back to haunt you. Fancy coming to a First Anniversary party? You can bring the chicken and we'll provide the atmosphere!
