Away fans.

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

The away fans were just replaced by a bunch of day trippers and families with annoying fookin kids climbing on their seats rather than watching the game. If we do move the away fans, the club and fans in the south stand need to go all out in making it a city ultra section. When I say 'Ultra' I dont mean a bunch of hooligans but more towards a hardcore of fans that sing, brighten the place up and make constant noise for 90 mins. You could see that Munich fans clearly had a hardcore of fans and I was very impressed, made us look bad to be honest.

I get fooked off when just a pocket of us start singing and everyone around us just stands there with their arms folded with faces liked a slapped arse. If you want to watch the game in silence, stay at home. It seems to me some fans that attend games are too cool for school.

Thought you were bigging up the rags for a minute then realised what you meant. Did laugh when I saw their banner saying 'Munich reds'. Bet we couldn't put the same one up next week!

Thing is, they had organisers like all the European teams do. It sounds great but I don't want to be told what to sing at any point by some skinhead.

What I do like about European teams is when they all shout something as one. The volume is incredible, more than you ever get here. Must be some cheating going on.

A bonus of having the away fans in the 3rd tier will be when we are defending corners at the South Stand against the likes of Stoke! Their ability to make our guys nervous from up there will be reduced.

As for a singing section, I'll sing when I want rather than when I'm told to. I reckon there's more of a sociology aspect around driving more like minded folk to sit/stand together. eg ticket prices or first come first served seats in one end like a concert! How many of us have mates sat in loads of different blocks? If it was the days of sit where you want in the Maine Road North stand or the old terraced Kippax we'd be surrounded by our full 'crew' for every game. Jokes, banter and starting songs would be miles easier.

Anyway, no beer in the ground will take our noise down a notch while euro away fans have all been supping beer since 8am. I saw loads of Germans drinking from lunch-time whereas most of us probably rushed to the game straight after work.
lets wish for good days but not forget the bad days

COMS is a graveyard and has been for a long time, no noise or passion, we'll be the northern arsenal soon.

Is this a timewarp quote from the Pearce era?

The times i've been able to get home the games have had a great atmosphere.

Thats utter bollox but then again hardly surprising, as you will argue black is white just to kick off a row on here.

As being Arsenal, nope we actually win things now. They are related to us in one way, as they have become our feeder club.

I understand why people are so touchy about this atmosphere situation as nobody likes having their own club criticised but the atmosphere at Eastlands is absolutely shite. There is about 20% of the ground who sing and thats only for the first 5 minutes and after each goal for a couple of minutes.

(And I have been to many MANY other grounds who have better than us)

I don't know if mentioned yet the Bayern fans did have the 3rd tier actually bouncing, maybe that is the acid test can we get the ground bouncing Rangers did as well.

Well said goaters 103. Eastlands ain't Celtic park etc but it deffo not old Trafford , Emirites etc. Problem with these things u never know who's typing what and what there motives are. Are the even city fans who go? Like I said yesterday, Mancini and the players hear us. That's all that matters . I'm guessing some of the people on here are Jens Lehman and his family!

I certainly do not think that the away fans should be given a prime spot right behind the goal and in full view of the cameras - somewhere in the 3rd tier - about the CB stand as that is quiet anyway

But for the Munich game I just wish that our stadium was built in such a way that we could have returned the favour of where they but us - but given the number of CITY fans I saw struggling to make it up there it would have to have been on the roof!!

That might well be true. City fans at Old Toilet were on great form, being in amongst the chosen few at that 6-1 thrashing was fantastic.

At the Allianz Arena though , the Bayern fans were nothing special at all. In fact it reminded me of being at Old Toilet.

It might take a while for it to happen but eventually it will get to old Maine Road standards for singing and banter.

We definitely need some standing areas though behind the goals would be perfect for it.

Something that I really noticed at the allianz was just how the stadium officials 'orchestrated' singing - especially after the goals but also throughout.

It reminded me of a time that I was in a box at the swamp and they pipe the songs that the crowd sing along to through the PA system

I really hope that we make our own atomosphere rather than resort to that

Yes, the Germans seem to have an affinity for co-ordinated activites, having been seen to be rallying together in the past, en masse, having someone wacky character lead the singing for example. The accordians drive me nuts though.

It's simply that away supporters make a ton of noise, particularly in Europe. We never shut up at Vilareal. And the noise at Schalke and especially Hamburg was constant. Twenty minute+ of "Never felt more like singing the Blues".
The same fans who sing their hearts out on their travels, simply sit and wait to be entertained at home.

Personally I get more up for it away from home, but that usually because the lads i'm with are the same, at home we're surrounded by miserable gits who just dont get into it. The south stand started off fantastic but has fizzled out now.

Even Utd fans make noise away from home. It's at home they're fucking crap.

I think the general atmosphere at ours, regarding actually roaring the team on when they have the ball etc, is as good as anywhere. Everybody gets behind the team when we are attacking. It was good from that point of view v Bayern imo, considering almost everyone suspected we were playing for nothing.

It's the so called 'singing section' which is crap. They don't sing that much & have few songs. That's the same in many other grounds but our club is trying to do something to improve it.

We might be shit but least we give it a go. All u lot slagging off 110 111 and south stand. Try unfolding your arms , singing, and stop slagging off them that do. As I said, Mancini hears us. And the players always come over. Instead of moaning join in. Getting off this thread cos to be honest I'm pretty shocked that some have such a piss poor attitude. Thought this site was for blues to support the team , not sit moaning about the lads who put the effort in every week. I genuinely suspect there some fans from other teams on here playing the game. Anyway, I'm off back to whisper at some away fans slagging them off. And all this about Maine road. When the kippax was seated it went well quiet. The north stand became the biggest singing area . Everyone saying Maine road this Maine road that. Maybe it was in the old days but by the end? No chance. Do u know it never rained when we were at Maine road? The streets were paved with gold and life was amazing . Yawn. Move on and stop remembering things that arnt true. Anyway I'm in 111 every game. Come in and I'll prove it is loud there. If the rest of the stadium can't hear us, fair enough. But it's full of people trying to get it going . can't say fairer than that. Anyway......... In a bit

I think the idea laid down earlier in the thread was a brilliant one.Maybe someone should pass it on to the club??. City should maybe bring out a 'singers card' obviuosly think of a better name. The card would get you in a section of the ground where you're expected to create a great atmos and join in with songs etc. This would be a great way of getting all the like minded city fans together as one.

You can see that there are pockets of fans that want an atmos, its those inbetween that need to fook off and let others take their place that will actually get behind the team.

Look at it as a players point of view.Personally I would enjoy playing in a ground with a great atmos and other clubs would find it intimidating.

As a whole, for English standards, our ground is one of the better ones for atmos, but watching us more and more in Europe makes me realise that there is defo room for improvement.

And that part about 111 not doin enough to get the rest of the ground goin is utter bollox.Iv sat in other areas of the ground and have attempted to join in with the songs from 111 only to be looked at like im some pissed up scum bag. Straight up, I cant see how people can go to games and just sit in silence. If I cant get in or around 111 or south stand, Id rather save my money and watch it at home or in the pub.

You should rant like this at the games, it'd be great to hear some noise coming from 111 for a change.
