Chelsea - getting their act together ?

Postby brite blu sky » Fri Dec 09, 2011 11:51 am

Are they sorting themselves out or was the performance v Valencia just a custom job for the occassion?

Could be a tough evening on Monday if they go the same route, although they would have to score first to try and do the same thing.

they played counter attack against valencia at stamford. valencia had like 70% possession...

and they might do the same on monday.

they got some self belief back, Id be ok with a point.

City have got more cutting edge and creativity than Valencia ( at least form what I saw in that game ). Their fans would be a bit not chuffed at playing an away game at home, they were groaning in the valencia game.

If we get tactics right we should win, but if we play it like its a home game(like we did away to munich) we could lose. Id go for a strong midfield, actually same team as away to rags for me and we should have enough. Avoiding defeat here is a decent result imo, a win would be great but the longer we stay unbeaten the better
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,

Valencia defended like a Sunday pub side and are simply not in City's league going forward.Having said that it will be a very tough game on Monday and a draw would be a good result. If nothing else Chelsea are in confident mood and the manager seems to have got nearer to his best line up with Lampard on the bench.

If it happens t be their day; they will beat a decent team. I thought Valencia ran the game v them though but had no cutting edge & no defence. They were also physically weak. Newcastle lost their only half decent defender & that came after Sideshow Bob had another lucky escape but Newcastle still created a host of chances even on a bad day for them. Liverpool took the piss out of them.

Imo, Liverpool are the only real test they've had in those games & they failed it spectacularly. The worst thing about Monday is Luiz being suspended, but hopefully his replacement will play to the same standard.

If they let us have the ball like they did Valencia; they are playing Russian Roulette.

I don't like barca, my mates who like football are Espanyol. I used to admire barca under Rijkaard especially when they had Larsson. Went to a few games then but i can't stand barca fans.. more so since guardiola and winning everything in sight. Last time i went to camp nou was v City ;)

I'd go with that, having confidence like Doug suggests can backfire. I'm expecting City to raise their game again for this.

If they allow us 70% of the ball we will beat them comfortably.

David Luiz being suspended is bad news for us as he would be a guaranteed red card and/or penalty vs us, but I think we should be able to beat them unless they play their best game of the season.

They lack strikers and their midfield/defense is not set at all and are usually all over the place. Look at how Arsenal cut their defense to pieces with a few decent passes. Then imagine what Silva would do with the same opportunities:-)

We need to deliver a good game, but without a ton of bad luck and a decent game we should be able to take all 3 home.

Make no mistake.

We are in for a very tough game on Monday.

A point will be a good result.

Anybody who thinks we are going to stroll into the bridge and get an easy win are not in the real world.

They have turned the corner.

I'm incredibly nervous about this game. That evil faced little swine is bound to bag one. Luckily we're mint! I'd rip your hand off at the shoulder if you offered me a point now. Having said that, 4-1 City!

Bridge is not a place we've had a hard time as of late, believe we won there last season and the one before. Why are people suddenly fearing the worst now that they are on the down and we are on the up?

We've beaten them when they were 'better' than us and now the tables have turned. I believe we will still get all 3.
