dont be too down about it, yes there are some problems in the team, but look at the facts, we have played spurs, utd, liverpool and chelsea away and only lost one of them, and a narrow defeat it was that could easily have went our way. Chelsea playing the best they played all season were lucky to win. Overall the season is a marathon not a sprint so that's not too bad at all, on paper our hardest away games of the season are now in the past.
But, and there is always a 'but' with us, we MUST beat Arsenal now, and it should be a super game. All things being equal ie no sending off or thick ref decisions we should have enough for them if we play with consistency.

What a prick, I mean come on get a grip will you. At 30 mins we were 1-0 up and should have had a pen because Silva turned the lad inside out. Thats awarded and then 2-0 at that stage would have simply blown them out of the water, Mancini has turned this team and club into a real force. We have just lost for the first time this season in the prem, score more goals then anyone would have put money on for this stage of the league, not to add al the records we have broken. We only have 1 of the top 6 teams left to play away, and they all have to come to us, they way I see it is even if we get xmass on level points with the scum we have the better run of games and if offered at the start of the season would have taken faster then you could blink.

well said that man..........

Midfield legs. After the first 30 mins their midfield energy and work rate started to dictate the game. They looked so much more mobile than us. I felt the same when watching Bayern and Napoli away.

I don't think they were that much more mobile than us, we were just never going to be keep up that early tempo for more than half an hour or so.

I thought it was when they started to sit incredibly deep and we started hoofing it long that they began to look better. I don't know why we stopped passing the ball.

I actually agree with the 80% of both of those posts. I don't agree that Chelsea's workrate dictated the game but I strongly agree that they, plus Napoli & Bayern, have showed something we lack as an option in midfield, which could improve our squad no end.

They did drop deep & start playing direct though. We could have just dropped deep ourselves, passed it, made them come out & hit them on the break but we didn't do any of those things. I don't know why.

Can someone clarify..does Clichy just get a one game ban for two yellows for the red card?

Yes he does.

Could do with Richards back on sunday, so Zabba can switch to left back and look after Mr Walcott.

Arsenall have no full backs either so likely Vermaelen will be playing left-back for them and Koscielny right-back.

Micah said he would be ok for the Arse so unless something bad happens he will be playing.

everyone is right here.

City know why they lost yesterday. Chelsea do not know how they managed to win that one. The way they celebrated at the end of the game you would think they had just actually won the league.

However ,I just can't see United's luck holding out. Old Spudda is due his crazy period. Is it a full moon this weekend ?

Zurich mein freund I think you have hit the proverbial nail on the head...

City know why they lost
Chelsea DON'T know why they won

Chelsea won because they played a deep line, crowding us out, and were more than a match for us in midfield.

I soooooo wish we'd have bought Mata. With him we'd be unbeatable.

A view from the Stands

I have access to a couple of Chelski season tickets and try and go when we're in London. Good seats not too high up but high enough to see the shape the teams hold and watch play develop. Stamford Bridge is a dour, hateful place and so are a some of the Chelsea fans. Why is it that clubs with a 'tasty' past still play up to the reputation, lots of fake hardman yelling 'lets facking 'ave it' and singing terrible songs 'chelsea, chelsea, chelsea' repeat 100 times and posture like you're a headhunter. Pompey fans seem to think they're all ex-657 and every West Ham fan seems to have been in the ICF (except for the weird middle class ones who wear the retro scarves and overcoats). However, I digress.

First time I've seen the boys with my own eyes this season, Silva and Aguero were awesome, mesmeric touch and great in posession. Mario did what was expected of him and made a nusiance of himself. Milner covered every blade of grass on the pitch. We should have killed them off in the first 15 minutes and been at least 2 up. Chelsea couldn't get the ball and their fans were going berserk 'they look like the facking home side' etc... For 80% of the game we were by far the better team and dominated possession. I'm not sure if AVB had them set up to let us retain possession or not but even with 10 men they couldn't get a look in. At times Aguero drifted too wide and Silva while lovely to watch tended to meander all over the pitch, sometimes I think we need to be a little more clinical, not route one but less flamboyant we looked about like Aresenal at times fiddling around on the touchline with tippy tappy passes when we should have been looking for the early delivery into the box. As the game went on Yaya looked like he needed a sit down and cup of tea and as the midfield got tired players got further away from each other and Mario got pissed off with the lack of service. I would have like to have seen Dzeko and Johnson in the second half to have a run at them but the sending off ruined the spectacle.

Very frustrated we lost I thought after 3 minutes we were going to walk it and the home fans around me were bricking it. Our fans were in great voice and the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE? YOU'RE 'AVIN A LAUGH song in the first 5 minutes made me smile so did the (elderly) Chelsea fans in my row squaring up to each other and nearly getting thrown out by the stewards - bellends.

Hope to see you guys at COMS where there is a much better atmosphere!
