Its nearly Christmas and many of you will be buying and recieving CD's, books or special items from the City Superstore. Theres a fair chance that any of these items will have the superb award winning photography of die hard City fan Kevin Cummins.



His portfolio includes music artist ranging from Queen to the Sex Pistols and of course his work has featured on various bands such as Smiths, Joy Division, Courtney Love, David Bowie, Adam Ant and Oasis amongst others as well as the Madchester scene and has a long 25 year association with NME - http://www.kevincummins.co.uk/gallery/index.php?list=2

Kevin was the official photography for the Farewell to Maine Road celebrations which documented City's final season at Maine Road in the book We're Not Really Here and he took many of the photos in the final programme. Never knew it was a Blue who did the Roses photo shoot of them in the paint, and very good it was too, it was on a poster on my wall for many years. Anyway, did you have more of a connection and warm towards to Reni what with the rest of them being rags?

Kev, I've always been interested in photographing scenery like mountains and lakes and I'm blessed to be from Wales, where they are just endless amounts of these. What would a starter camera be with a budget of about £500 ?

Kevin, one of my abiding memories of you was on an early Sky programe called 'Taking the pitch' where the city panel of Rodney Marsh, Eddie Large and superfan and London Branch head honcho Steve Irwin beat the rags in the semi final of the show (Steve smashed a penalty past Peter Shilton with his DM's) .... we were sat next to each other in the audience and you got a tad upset with one of their fans and er .. um ... set light to his scarf. What are your true feelings on United fans and United in general?
