The Tudor Room

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

The Tudor Room

Postby Bingo Lewis » Mon Dec 19, 2011 8:07 pm

My Dad and I were invited as Guests with Mr Thomas himself for yesterdays game, and what a day it was!
I don't know if anyone on here has been Tudor's guest in his room, but I can tell you it is an amazing room.
The whole place is a shrine to City, going back donkey's years. One of Mike Summerbee's England shirts, with mud still on it, Loads of stuff from the goat, kinky, uwe, Elano etc. all signed personally to Tudor. He's obviously really respected at the club, and rightly so. Even a certain Mr Bacon Chops himself is a great friend of his, and he has a brilliant photo of him holding a City football and looking very happy about it ha-ha!
His family were great hosts also, Steve, his Son, Dan, his grandson, Mary, his wife and Diane, Steve's wife.
So, anyway, we had a great day, got to the ground despite the treacherous conditions in very slippy shoes and nearly ending up on my rump in front of a load of Arsenal Fans, straight into the Tudor room for a pre-game pint plus buffet (which this 14 stone fat boy avoided) then out to the seats for the game, which I reckon whilst nerve wrecking at times, was one of our best performances this season. We showed proper character and bravery after the disappointment of Stamford Bridge, and I felt quite proud of the lads at the full time whistle. After the game it was back to Tudor's suite for post game drinks and food (by this point i was starving so definitely tucked in) and then home for bed as it had been one long day.
Bit of inside info is that a Certain Arab Prince was at the game yesterday, didn't see or meet him personally, but I know he was there, although why he didn't show himself I've no idea.
So basically, I'm just having a gloat at you all and trying to make you all jealous, and advise you that if you ever get chance to be a guest of Tudor Thomas, do not ever pass it up, his room will amaze you, his family will make you feel at home, and the man himself will make you feel like you really are in the presence of a legend, which is just what you are.
Talking of Legends, bumped into my new best mate again, Lakey, so hello Paul if you read this good to see you again haha

Sounds like you had a great time mate, nothing better than looking back into the annals of City's history (yes, we do have some) and good of those who sorted it out.

The blokes been around for eons, well, since the 2nd WW anyway, and probably one of the oldest living links to the club in a non-player role. You're are being treated to some real decent events at the moment Danny which should be cherished, not many people get these chances, or even understand that they are there.

Well in mate, great to see you had a good day ;-)
