Real fume as Manchester City look set to take Jose Angel Pozo out of Madrid

Manchester City are on the brink of snapping up one of the most exciting prospects in European football - 15-year-old Real Madrid striker Jose Angel Pozo.
The Spaniard’s parents have been in Manchester in the past few days looking at houses and schools ahead of a move in January, which will be completed in the next few days.
Pozo is very highly rated at Real but has been swayed by considerably better wages at City and the promise of reserve team football next year.

Looking into the future: Roberto Mancini
City could have signed him for free as he does not have a professional contract with Real but have instead chosen to pay the Spanish club around £100,000 compensation as a gesture of goodwill.
Chelsea and Liverpool had also been interested in Pozo, who scored 34 goals for Real’s youth team last season but City moved quickly following the recommendation of football development executive Patrick Vieira.
Real are very upset at losing one of the stars of their academy and president Florentino Perez made a last-ditch attempt to keep Pozo in a meeting a few weeks ago.
But the boy’s family believe his future is better at City and have been encouraged by City saying they will try to help them find jobs.
Signing Pozo is the latest step in City’s move to bring Europe’s best young players to the club so they can cut spending in future years and fall in line with UEFA’s financial fair play rules.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Shhhhh, don't tell anyone. Real will offer his dad a job at the training ground now.

The Daniel Sturridge debate causes a split, this young lad will be paid at guess a mill or 2 signing on 30 grand a week. Maybe we can see where the Ashley Cole attitude comes from with young players.

Bet we never hear from this guy again.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Think I´ll be dropping this golden nugget into some of my classes with Madridista students

That's another thing I've always been wondering about these deals. What does it mean that club will find them jobs? I mean, fair enough if his dad is a lawyer and mother nurse but what if they are some completely uneducated people with no previous work experience and/or do not speak word of English? How are club going to sort them jobs and what exactly would they be doing?

Weird.

Presumably they are employable. That Slovakian Lad who played around the same time as Weiss; I think they found his dad a job as a train driver or something. Wheras that German bloke who put his kids in the academy ended up as manager of Brentford.

Like you would have to work with a son doing this for a living. I have met many of the young lads through my company ,The package if they use it well keep calm will set them up for life including parents. Trust me mind blowing amounts of dough for potential at the end of the day.

I know a guy who works at city who once introduced me to a young player (13 years old i think), he was from somewhere in Africa.

He said that because they couldnt pay a fee they had to do all sorts of stuff to get him to the club, finding his parent a job was one of them... They basically have to do anything they can to persuade the parents to come without it being outside the rules.

Im sure his family, if they havent got cash, have been given some rather nice sweeteners.

I dont think the lad will get much money until he turns 18 to be honest. Im not 100% though!

Sounds like WE will be offering his dad a job. Maybe he can sort out the ticket office?

There used to be a humorous story of an ex City 1st teamer who had the rags knocking on his parents front door while some delivery blokes were shoving (a City gift of) a 3 piece suite through the back door.

St Helens RLFC, trying to sign a young Rugby Union protige from a poor Welsh mining community in the 60s, asked his father if they could sign his young son for 3,000. His father replied "For 3 grand, you can have the whole fucking family"

Nowt's changed but the size of the deals. Am glad to know City know the game and are playing it well.
